You're kidding right? Why would you ask a random question like that at the end of a bicep article? I'm gonna move this into it's own thread. Please don't clutter up old threads with random questions.

The answer though is NO, they most certainly do not work. At least not in any meaningful way.

If you lift a little pink dumbell 300 times...toward the end it will "feel" intense. If you think it IS intense, then you need a better defintion of intensity.

^^ I've got to disagree, I've seen studies that show difinitive evidence that certain substances can help the body to reach its full output of HGH. Granted, unless your 40+ they really wont do shit for you, since your already at or near optimization of gh release anyway.

Then again if your at that age, you may be a candidate for HRT or GH therapy anyway, so why dick around with this stuff?

Doubt it. Even if they do it is for a very short period. Very transient and not long enough to lead to anything. That is why I said not in any meaningful way. But we may not be talking about the same things.

Most hgh releasors or "secretogogues" are scams. Even the ones that have stuff that may increase hgh release won't promote sustained hgh release. And others are complete snake oil altogether.

And it seems to me, although this is just speculation, that is would be just the opposite with "releasers". If your body is not good at relaeasing it's own hgh then a releaser would not help much. Whereas it would do more for a younger person who is alread good at releasing it...that is if it worked in any significant way which it almost definitely doesn't.

And you also need to be careful of some of the ingredients used in some of these things. Do you really want ground up cow brains? Hell look at some of the fancy proteins for sale. People will put any crazy thing in a sup. Look at ergopharm's protein. Bovine plasma....the liquid portion of cow blood. YEAH! Give me some cow plasma.

^^ hahah yeah, they will put just about anything in supps these days. The thing with GH is, just about everything out there is suppose to "help release gh". Arginine, Glutamine, I've even seen people saying BCAA's are responsible for GH release.

My understanding is that GH is released in pulses, so it would only need to work for a short period (increasing the length, or intensity of the pulse). But Like I said, when your young, your pulses are going to be optimised anyway. I could be wrong, but thats how I've understood it.
