Default Best way to eat cottage cheese

What is a good way to choke it down? I tried putting it in tapioca pudding and it wasn't too bad. I know about the functionality of cottage cheese and want to include it in my diet, esp. before bed. The only way I'm eating it now is to take huge spoonfuls and treat it like a shot of whiskey.

It seems as though I am a weird person since I actually really like cottage cheese. Although, in my opinion it all depends on the brand and curd size (I like large) especially when it comes to low fat cottage cheese. Some brands are just disgusting and unedible in my opinion.

One trick I have seen people use is to add some fresh fruit to it. When I have strawberries around I sometimes slice them into my cottage cheese, especially good if you sweeten them up with splenda first to get some extra juice for the cottage cheese. I know most people don't want carbs before bed but I don't think a few strawberries or anything is going to hurt. Other fruits I've heard people using is pineapple, bananas, peaches, and even applesauce.

I've also heard of people making "smoothies" out of it which a found a recipe for:
In a blender combine:

1/2 cup of cottage cheese (low or nonfat)
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup of milk (low or nonfat)
1 scoop of protein powder (optional)
1 packet of Splenda or sweetner of choice

Yeah I would rather not have the fructose before bed..Now coming froma former cottage cheese hater this is what I do and its pretty good...I add a heavy amount of cinnamon+1 packet of splenda its actually really good IMO so give that a shot.

Actually sleazy thats what almost exactly what I wrote under protein shake recipies. I will do the fruit or protein powder...not both, doesnt sound good. Its been the only way I can eat it. I was wondering if blending it does it make the cottage cheese less effective as a slow digesting protein?

Does anyone have a favorite type or brand? Is there a difference?

I'm eating about 2 cups worth right now. I guess it takes time to get used to because it ain't as bad as when I first tried it a few days ago. I bought the jello tapioca pudding and mixed it in. I just think I had to get rid of that vinegary taste to enjoy it. Thanks for the replies...

I dont have much to add as far as add ins, cause I like it, and eat it straight. My buddy used to toast some whole wheat, put a layer of cottage cheese on it, then a little salt and pepper, that isnt bad.

I usually just buy the store brand, Kroger, I dont see much differnece from brand to brand.

Cottage Cheese is MONEY! At least that's what I think. Try it mixed with tuna. I like it with a little fruit (preferably pineapple).

Check this page out http://www.stumptuous.com/cottage.html

There are a few cottage cheese recipes to check out.
