Default ground meat recipes

Ok, so I know there is a lot you can do with ground meat. Be it beef, turkey, chicken ect. here is one of my favorites, I eat it once or twice a week for dinner. Its simple, quick, and tasty.

1lb lean ground beef
10 whole lettuce leaves

sautee beef with oriental sesoning (i use a little soy, or some teriyake marinade, watch out for carbs) some garlic, and some pepper.

use the leaves and wrap the ground beef into pockets. Sit back and enjoy.

(If using this for ckd like I am, you will need an extra fat source, this is basicly just protien and fiber) I would suggest a heavy cream/choc shake for desert.

I like 0311's idea of making two packages of Hamburger Helper (2# of meat and 2 boxes of HH) and divide the final product into five servings for the day. (I use the lasagne flavor).

If you like making hamburgers, you can add 1 tblsp of Old Bay per pound of meat. Very tasty. It's also good in meatloaf.

I make a big pot of meat sauce once and a while. When I brown the beef, i also put in some worchershire sauce and a bit of cumin. The I cut up a white onion and a green pepper and a yellow pepper. Mix the beef, onion and peppers in a jar of plain ol' Ragu. I use ~1# of beef, 1/2 onion and 1/2 each pepper per bottle of Ragu I use. I don't cook the onion or pepper before putting it into the sauce because I simmer it for several hours, and the cooking will soften them up.

A good chili recipe is good to have for ground beef or ground turkey, too. Though I don't have one. I just use the packages from the store.

And you don't even have to heat the meatloaf up. Well, I like it cold, too.

I put Peter Luger's steak sauce or a little bit of ketchup on mine.

here is another ckd favorite of mine, some crisp fresh lettuce, top with ground meat, melt some cheddar on top, then some hot sauce or salsa, and you got a little taco salad ... minus the shells.
