fat loss thing, need help

Hey all, as far as things goes, I am gonna try to lose some weight and need to see what you guys have to say.

I got a free month supply of hydroxycut hardcore (the seventy dollar one, 120 capsules).

I have been smoking ciggirettes/weed, but have quit about a week ago and never goign to smoke anything again or drink. So should I cleanse my system before I even start a workout program? Was thinking of spending 5 days or so of time to sticking to drinking about 2 gallons of water everyday for that 5 days to a week or so.

As far as my size goes, I am 5'11ish, 235 pounds at about 20ish-22ish percent body fat, I wear large t-shirts, and pants size of 38. Oh yea, I am 19.

As far as it goes, I am going to be taking hydroxycut hardcore and see how it does, I've used the cheap caffine free one and liked it, not a whole lot, but was fine.

As far as exercise goes, I have'nt done much due to my knee, but was goign to start the Tae-Bo videos, nice on my knee. And was going to work on running cardio 6 times a week at about 2 miles the first week, and move the more time up slowly and then hit up the hiit running 3 times a week, starting at 5-7 mins and move the intensity up.

As for lifting weights, no clue what to do, I was thinking of mixing it up with some plyometrics.

Usally I do fine everytime I start a workout program, I do good at least for a month and hit a wall because usally week 1 I do maybe a hour a day, next week hour a day, and move it up slowly by 30 mins each week for everyday working out, well exercising...

As for my diet now, I eat crap, but I've been sick because I think of smoking, so I was going to quit for good, and have'nt been eating too much though in calories.

I know at my size I need to eat rougly 2.6k calories or so to maintain my weight, but should I go down to 2k calories to lose weight with a program?

What do you guys think I should do? As far as it goes, I am gonna start to eat nothing for 6 days or so until my next paycheck, because thats when I am going to open up a gym membership, and buy some new protein, probally 100 percent golden whey. And a pair of new running shoes.

Would like to see some feed back of what you guys do when you cut, I've read the hinting on cutting sticky already.

Sounds to me like you haven't been doing anything lately. I would figure out a diet and program that you can stay on some level of consistancy with.. Log onto fitday.com and log down everything you eat for a week to two weeks. Doesn't matter what, even if it's bad.

At least that way you have SOMETHING you can base your decisions off of.

The best cleanser is water and fiber

Ok, what would you guys say I should eat exactly? I kind of have an idea, but would like some imput from what you guys would do...

Like what do you do 0311?

As far exercises, I am a big fan of Tae-Bo, I have some videos of it at home, well, about 15 or so, about 10 are 30 minutes long, and then I have 3-4 boot camp ones that are an hour long. I bought 2 8 pound dumbells I am gonna use while I do them, and then after I feel I get stronger I might get a heavier one, prob 2 20 pound ones or if I can find a 15 pound one, will get 2 of those.

I've done well with some things, but my problem is, I try to build up to elite exercises where I exercise for 2 hours a day, and feel that I should'nt because most times I do lose weight like my last time a month ago, I lost about 5 pounds in 3 weeks, but started to hurt myself in my joints.

So should I keep the exercise minimal? Like 4-6 times a week 30 mins running and 2-3 times hiit, few times lifting weights, and ad a plyometric thing here or there? Just dont want to hurt my knee again.

Also, I was thinking of buying the universal animal stack packs, well, the weight loss one...what do you guys have to say?

Well, I would like 0311 or dr x, and the guy with the 3d tough dude, any of you guys if you can to come up with a diet plan you guys think I should do...

Cleansing is still good, stomach sometimes hurts when I drink down some v8 juice...but am peeing all the time =P. And I got a free months pass to golds gym, I work at GNC and get a discount there, so someone left a free months pass, think I might use that for starting next monday...

Hey, I got all your pm's.. In all honestly, I don't have a whole lot of time to sit down and go over each and every detail for you. I left the forum for a very long time, one reason due to my pm box getting absolutely flooded with questions that would be answered the same as in the forum. That's why we have this forum. There's TONS of people here just as qualified to give nutrition advice than me or dr. x... Which is kinda funny since we're the two guys who were never here LOL!

I will say that nothing I say would serve you justice if you don't log onto fitday and log in a few weeks worth of meals to establish a baseline to go off of.

Solid advice.

You must have knowledge of what your putting into your body now. ( protein, carbs , fat = calories ) Then from there you will know how many calories you need to take in.

Yea, my dad told me I MIGHT have a torn ligament in my knee, I got shark cartaledge, some chews from my work for cheap to help rebuild cartaledge, and scittheius. So far some of its helping, only been taking it for a few days.

Tomarrow though I am going to start getting cut, got a membership at golds gym.

Doing Tae bo videos, I personally like them because they're fun to do and ect, doing it with a 10 lb dumbell for now to get a kick butt workout. Then doing the elipitical running thing 6 days a week, prob about 9 mins a mile on it to get used to it. And probally going to lift 3 days a week. Sucks though, I can only lift upperbody for now.

If I do self squats, with my own bodyweight of 240 lbs, after 4 or so, my right knee starts to hurt.

But I have everything figured out so far but my workout routine, but I got the arnolds weightlifting bible guide to weightlifting. Going to look at what I can do from there....

Does that mean you know exactly how much pro/carb/fat you're taking in every day?

J-Rock 03-16-2008 08:44 AM

If you have a torn ligament you shouldn't be trying to do 9 min mile workouts either.

bakkily 03-16-2008 08:37 PM

Aye, I do, about 300 grams protein, 150 carbs, about 40 fat, I am cutting the fat down from 60 to 40, but today I hit maybe 250 grams of protein, 150 carbs, amaybe 30 fat.

But tomarrow I am going to start exercising. As for cardio, I am going to be working on the eliptical machine, my dad said to just not take it so hard on the knee. He's a chriopracter, and said he'll try to get me in asap when he calls in tomarrow.

I tried the thing thats supposed to be easy on your knee for cardio, my knee did'nt like it, the treadmill and bike was great on my knee, so everyday of my 30 mins cardio gonna hit the bike for 10 mins to start the blood flow and finish it with 20 mins on the treadmill.
