jump rope vs running

I've read in magazines that jumping rope is better than running. Is this true?

since this is in the fat loss section I'll assume that your asking if its better for fat burning. Its debatable, but i'd say jumping rope for around 30 to 45 second intervals would put you in the same realm as doing HIIT sprints for the same duration. So if you look at it like that, it would definately be "better" for fat loss then long bouts of solid state cardio.

Just look at the top of the fatloss page. There is an HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) sticky which will provide you with lots of info.
