Looking to get ride of a fat stomach?
Well im looking to get rid of the fat in my mid section and get a 6 pack back once again. Im 19 i have a BMI of 24. I do continuous lifting and sprinting for about 3-4 hours daily on the job and when i get home i work out chest abs and arms for another hour then have a protein shake. What else could i be doing to get a firm stomach again.
For starter's I'd start working out your legs. Being the biggest muscle in your body makes them the most efficient at burning calories, so increase them would help a great deal.
Remember you can't spot reduce fat, generally the fat that disapears first are the youngest fat cells on your body.
Obtain nutritional information on your foods, look out for saturated and trans fats.
Don't eat after about 8 at night.
Make sure you have a big breakfast.
Try to eat smaller meals but more often, it helps keep a steady metabilsm.
If you can reduce alcohol in take.
If you mix milk with your protein shakles try a low fat milk
Instead of eating normal pasta's try brown ones.
Cut back on junk food.
Honestly dude I could go on for ever. Just remember losing weight isn't about dieting it's about life style. Make a few of these key lifestyle changes and you should lose weight.
all you workout is chest, abs and arms? The best advice would be pick out a diet plan and train a bit differently.
You say not to eat after 8:00pm...I would agree if you were going to bed at 8:30. But if you were going to bed at 10:00 then I would say have something to eat. If you go to long without food in your stomach (espically when you sleeping )I don't think your body will repair its self , as well as it could. I would say to eat about 1/2 - hr before you go to bed and try to make it a slow digesting protein / carbs so that your body has enough nutrients to last 6 - 8 hrs.
^^ I agree with TALO on the protein consumption before bed, but NOT the carbs unless its veggies. Not eating after 8 pm isn't a good idea unless you don't really care about preserving muscle mass. I've always been a believer in carb cuttoffs. Say 6 pm is the carb cuttoff, meaning from that point on through the night, it's only lean cuts of meat and veggies. Veggies only yield trace carbs, so they're great for a stomach filler. The reasoning is that sleep is catabolic, so it's always good practice to eat an hour or two before bed... And even more optimal to perhaps eat a slow digesting protein shake OR something like cottage cheese 30 minutes prior to sleep. I cannot sleep without my 40 grams of micellar/egg white mix and about 4 metamucil pills. :) In case anyone's wondering, the fiber helps slow digestion further allowing for a steady flow of aminos in the bloodstream longer from the protein.
