to eat or not to eat b4 cardio
 
i always thought if you didnt eat b4 you did cardio you would just burn muscle, but i see on the sticky it says to do cardio before you eat. what do you guys think?

I always have a scoop of whey 20 mins or so before morning cardio but no carbs if its low intensity cardio.

fasted am cardio is probrably the best thing you can do, especially if its Hiit. But its not like having something in your stomach is going to magically keep you from burning fat. Regardless of what is in your gut (within reason of course) your still doing cardio, your still getting your heart rate up, and your still increasing the rate at which your body needs to use calories.

While there are a lot of factors to fat loss, i wouldnt get hung up on all the small stuff. Keep it simple, if you can go for fasted cardio, if not dont worry about it. IMO

When I do cardio (which is not that often) I prefer to do an AM fasted. My reasoning is that is the time my metabolism can use a kick in the ass and burn more calories over a longer period. Also, afterwards I can eat a good meal with no guilt (:biglaugh: like that happens!!)

i been basically going with the routine of waking up taking a shower etc then go for a cardio thing outside then wait like 30 or so min before eating breakfast. Im not sure if thats right but thats what i do so anyone feel free to correct me if its wrong! thanks :)

How do you define cardio? Are you running, bicycling, or doing body weight exercises?

i do the hiit right after i wake up with nothing to eat before hand...i find it keeps my appetite up through the day...

you'll burn MORE fat this way than in a fasted state!!
