Virtually any diet will help with fat loss as long as you are creating a calorie deficit. Eating high protein and lifting weight will help you maintain your muscle mass. Otherwise it is simply a matter of personal preference and compliance. The "best" diet is one that works best for you--one you can stay on long enough to get the desired results. I like a fasting strategy but that's just my own preference.
