Weight Lose without cardio ??

Hi guys N Girls,
Here is a situation my friend asked me he got gym facility near his residence and there isn't any good gym near his house. Basically he is going to start hitting gym just because of lose weight and build muscle of course but he don't like huge muscles. But problem is there is gym and nearly all the equipments but no instructor for cardio. Someone suggested him to use light weights and do more reps like every set for every muscle the guy told him to do 4 sets 20 reps each with light weights it'll help gaining strength and lose weight. So please tell me about it is it really gonna work for him ?
Please feel free to comment. Waiting for your reply
Best Regards,
Fakii .......

Hi Fakii, what i would recommend to him would be heavy weights 4x6 set range and 3day bodypart split, why? this will hold onto muscle and strength best when in a low calorie diet. Its very unlikely you will gain strength when in low calories, so maintaing what you have is normally the best policy.

This will allow you to go into a calorie deficit targetted for weightloss and allow you to hold onto as much muscle as possible as you lose the bodyfat.

First and foremost, your friend isn't likely to get "huge muscles" by working out. It isn't that easy, trust me.

As the previous guy said, I'd recommend a lower rep range to build muscle or maintain it. He can do some cardio on non-lifting days.

You can do exercises at your own home. Beside this walking, dancing. swimming, running are also can help you to lose weight.

Yea it will work as long as he's doing it right. When I am trying to do cardio type lifting I have done up to 250 reps in a set (bicep curls while on the treadmill with super light weight like 8 lbs). When trying to do cardio type lifting do anywhere from 15 reps to 250 reps or even more if you can. You will feel it the next day.

Hi fakii,
First make me clear cardio exercises are not to build muscles. Cardio exercises increased your heart rate and blood circulation throughout the body. Cardio exercises increased our metabolic system also and prevent us form heart related illness.
