Default Best way to lose love handles?!

Arg! It's driving me insane! I am 6'1, 163 lbs, and 20 years old but I have this crazy problem with love handles. I have stopped eating sweets for about 7 months now and have done this before in the past but it's like I have love handles, especially on my left side no matter what. I have been doing those side dips where you hold a dumbell in one hand and lean down to that side but it does not seem to be helping. I exercise so much too.

Can someone tell me please something they have done that eliminates them? I will do anything!

Thanks a lot guys.

You cannot spot reduce. You can do side bends til you can't see straight, but that's not going to make just that section of fat go away. You have to lose fat from your entire body. And sadly, the most people's bodies work, your 'trouble spots' will always be one of the last bits of fat to come off.

Good for you for cutting out the sweets. But you may need to look a little more closely at your diet. In order to lose fat, you need to create a caloric deficit. Whether that be through diet and/or the addition of cardio to your program, that's up to you.

Even if you're eating 'clean', you could still be overeating.

IK is right. Spot reducing does not happen unfortunately and you need to create that caloric deficit for overall fat loss. What does your routine and diet look like. With that info we can be of more help. Good luck.

Thanks a lot guys. It's like my right side handle is kind of there but no where near as much as my left one which is pretty big in my opinion. It drives me crazy because I am skinny naturally and my body is getting pretty big from lifting weights and looking good except for this, lol. And it's not like I don't get enough exercise I get tons. I am at college, and from now on I will just start posting what I eat during the day. Like today's for example:

Breakfast: Bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios
Lunch: Minute Maid 20 oz bottle of pink lemonade, roll, serving of green beans, serving of lasagna, serving of vegetable lasagna, and a granola bar that is Honey and Oats by Sunbelt.

That might be your problem right there. I found that doing those (yrs ago) didn't get rid of the handles, but made them more muscular. So in the end they were solid and looked bigger.... I never had a huge problem with them, and without see yours I'm not sure how bad yours are either. At 165lbs I wouldn' think they would be that bad.

The only way I know would be cardio and diet.

And if that's all your eating you will need to change it up a bit man!

You need atleast 4-5 meals a day.

TALO's Sig:"But when do you actually grow? Well, we don't grow in the gym. In the gym, we destroy. We tear down the body. We only grow when we are recovering. That's right, I said recovery. I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

Well it's hard to get 4-5 meals a day when you are at college and have a limited budget. Unfortunately the cafe was not open last night so last night for dinner I had 3 soft tacos, a beef and potato burrito, and a cheesy beefy melt from Taco Bell.

For lunch today at 12:00 I had a roll, mixed serving of vegetables, this patty that is meatless (it's a vegetarian college), about 5 little potatos with ketchup, and this casserole that I dont know how to describe. Lol also a serving of rice, a pink lemonade from Minute Made and one of those Honey and Oats granola bars from Nature Valley. I will try to get a picture of my handles, lol.

There are such things as vegetarian colleges? Crazy.

The dinner last night from Taco Bell probably ain't making those love handles any smaller. It sounds like your diet has a lot of sodium, and tons of sugar - especially in those Pink Lemonade things. Both of those things you should watch out for - plus, if you're like me, too much sugar buys you a free pass to tossing and turning every night with no sleep.

Gotta shape up the diet, man... good luck with it.

From the meals you've listed... where's your protein?? You're getting a ton of carbs, mostly refined ones. But you need some serious revamping of your protein intake.

Granted, being in a vegetarian place isn't gonna make it easy. But still, you don't have to eat just what's on campus.

The quickest way for me to loose fat is to drink ONLY water. No lemonade, no sweet tea, no cokes no nothing. Also, the rolls will do nothing but hurt you. If you eat bread make sure its whole wheat. It will fiil you up better because it takes longer to digest.White bread gets digested very quickly and leaves you hungry. Cut out fast food all together and drinkn only water and I think you will see vast improvement.
