Default Hey, new to the forum.

I am new to the forum and thought it would be best to make my first post in the intro section.

Personal info:
Age - 24
Weight - 172 (you wouldn't think so if you saw me, I look too damn skinny)
Height - 6ft

I have always been scrawny, I was never really active, other than BMX riding. I used to ride my bike to work, a 14 mile roundtrip about 4-5 days a week. Plus, I would get bored at home and I would ride just to ride.

Background in weightlifting:
I went to the Vocational Criminal Justice class during the last two years of high school. 3 days a week we had Military Style PT, during the winter this was done at the gym, spring/fall it was outside. I was in mad shape back then. I went to the Criminal Justice class to prep me for the Marines , to keep a LONG story short, I tried to get in for 2.5 years and a stomach disorder kept me out of service. :(
To all of those who are in the service or will be, thank you.

Purpose for lifting:
After 4 years of having a desk job, I have gotten lazy and I am tired all the time. So, I am working on getting into the State Troopers Academy , my tactical side wants out. Plus, I just generally need to get back into shape.

The State Trooper requirements for my body weight:
Bench Press (1 rep max) - 160lbs
Leg Press (1 rep max) - 300lbs
1.5 Mile run time - 13.22mins

So far, I have spent about 2 months in the gym, here is what I have accomplished:
Bench press (1 rep max) - Started at 110lbs, now I am at 140lbs
Leg Press (1 rep max) - Started at 250lbs, now I am at 330lbs
1.5 Mile run time - Don't really know, I have not done a test run yet.

To get to my goals, I have realigned my diet and forced myself to gain 20lbs. I went from 150lbs to 170lbs, I have an extremely high metabolism, so I had to eat a ton. Now that I am at the gym, I hope to keep my weight stable and put on some muscle. I am not lifting to get huge, but mainly just to get back into shape and hopefully see some gain.

You may not see me posting a lot, but I will be around, soaking in all the information on the site.

Future goals:
- Now that my Leg Press requirement has been met, I will focus more on arms/bench.
- Get some ripped abs.
- Lose the belly fat aquired during my weight gain.
- Meet my 1.5 mile run requirement.

welcome, and goodluck

TALO's Sig:"But when do you actually grow? Well, we don't grow in the gym. In the gym, we destroy. We tear down the body. We only grow when we are recovering. That's right, I said recovery. I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"
