Default Need Some Help

Hello,

I am looking for some advice and i'll explain my situation. I am trying to better my lifestlye and nutrition and figured i'll start weight lifting. I'm 27 years of age and grew up living an active life thru sports mostly hockey. The past few years I have let my weight and health get a little out of control. I am 6'2" and 235lbs+ haven't weighed myself in a few weeks but I think I've lost a few pounds the past week and a half. What I am wanting to do is better myself thru weight lifting an am pretty new to it. So I joined this forum to get some advice from someone who might have been in the same situation before and get some help trying to build a program for myself.

Currently I would like to (re)build my whole body but with an emphasis on my legs. I figure starting with my lower body would be more work and the upper body would follow suit. I know I won't get results over-night and I am ready to devote myself to this cause for my health and self-esteem.

So for you guys with experience willing to help a new guy out your advice and motivation would be greatly appreciated.

Questions:

Maintain my current weight or drop it?

Should I take supplements or just eat alot of protein rich foods?

Should I start @ home until I need machines for certain work-outs? I know alot of machines for the legs are @ gyms and can join one.

Would love some help building a program for my needs.

How many times a week should I work out?

Should I start with low weight/high reps or lots of weight/low reps?

Thanks to all that can help me out. Don't mind me if i repeated myself a few times
