Ninety-eight pound weaklings need not reply
Hello all.
This is a quick post. I'm 37, still lifting after a serious injury 15 years ago. I'm more into maintenance than power (I must avoid compressing the spine.) Maybe a good theme would be, "How buff can you get with 5 kilo dumbbells?" |
Try to do the movements so slowly as possible, and you will see how 5 kilo weigh.
If you do it well, you can get very nice muscular congestion*, and that's the best thing you can get in a gym. *i'm sorry, but i don't know the correct words in english. Baybe it is right writen... I don't know... |

That question was vague and relative to perception, & the attitude is old. We've all seen it before & it's not impressive. |

98lbs weaklings need to reply, but you say the theme is "How buff can you get with 5 kilo dumbbells?"
:gay: |
You wanting to get buff using just 5 kilo dumbbells is about the same as me wanting to become the smartest financial consultant in the world by reading just ONE book.
Good luck to you because unlike in the business world where I may just have a chance to hit a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you got NO chance to get buff using just 5 kilo dumbbells. |
Dice en español, por favor.
This is the 'Introduce Yourself' thread, if I understand correctly. I'm not asking for advice, merely asking a rhetorical question to which I expected no serious responses. The title was intended to be humorous. There is a subtle distinction between "98 lb weaklings" and "98 lb athletes in training." I can only know my character authoritatively; you are the best expert on yours. One becomes a little warped after multiple unsuccessful attempts at such training targets as "Standing from the toilet without assistance AND without falling onto the floor." It has been a long road to walk. I have to laugh at myself. Maybe someday you will see the humor. I'm happy that I'm allowed the 5 kilo dumbbells at this point. This month, I'm allowed to start 'jogging', but only for 5 minutes a day. The target is (eventually) 8km/day. It's nice to see an active forum. |
You posted in the Training Forum, not Member Introductions.
|
That would've probably been a better intro post, plus you're in the training forum.
Especially since people have come on here asking for advice from people who are not 98lb weaklings :) |
I skipped the part of you having an injury. My bad.
|
how about 153lb weaklings? :biglaugh:
|
So you deserve help because you are injured but if a 98 lbs person wanted to "apply" they would be turned down? So injuries are excuses but "not being strong YET isn't? I don't except the justification. This kind of attitude is why 90 percent of people out there thinks everyone who lifts weight are assholes. Seriously. Just say 'I'm sorry for saying that", it was wrong, forget the excuse, an move on.
Lots of people have been in pain. Me included. |
How do you say in english when you train hard with short time betwen series and your muscles become major cause of blood.
"congestion"?? is it the same word? |

Plus it would not hurt for you to be a little bit more specific. BTW: I started out as a "98 pound weakling" and have progressed quite nicely thank you. :) |
Ocker, I think you are talking about the "pump" but yeah..congestion is about right..but it is not an indicator of good training.

NO, it is not. Having a plan of progression is a good start.

who is gonna search for the "why a pump doesn't mean shit" thread :) cuz...i'm tired. :)
|
The idiot who made the statement can do the search himself. Infact, I'd like to see why he thinks a pump means ANYTHING.
|

|

|
