Overeem vs. Fedor The past strikeforce event showcased Overeem's dominance over Brett Rodgers. He made QUICK work with him and it could've been faster if Overeem utilized more kicks (leg or head). Overeem has great gnp, wrestling, jiu jitsu and PHENOMENAL striking (K1 fighters have the most finesse in their strikes). Overeem IMO will be the guy to take Fedor off his throne. I don't see how Fedor could match Overeem's technically sound striking or ground game, not to mention the reach, height, weight and strength advantage. Fedor of course can never be counted out but I see Overeem taking Fedor out. Thoughts? |
I would have to disagree with you on this one. Overeem is not a bad fighter at all.... BUT. He has lost to Noguiera twice and Soogun also twice. He has also lost against Werdum via kimura. The only advantage I see Overeem having over Fedor are his kicks but in Fedor's defence, I would say he did pretty damn good against Crocop. Fedor's ground game is, imo, one of the best. I'm not too crazy about his overhand punches but when he connects, it's over. Overeem is strong yes but so is Fedor. Overeem is also lean but Fedor is comfortable with his bf%. I highly doubt he will make the same mistake (triangle/armbar) again. Fedor is a predator in the ring/cage...constantly hunting his opponent down. My prediction for the fight (if it even happens due to overeem entering a K1 tournament ending in Dec) is Fedor winning in the 2nd round by way of K-O. :WEIGHT~13: |
Fedor is unstoppable imo |
Definitely disagree, Fedor will take out Overeem and fairly easy. |
Fedor all the way! The guy is half bear. |
