Post your MMA Training here!

Im just curious to see how everyone trains for their mma stuff. So what im asking is if you can post some stuff you do to train outside of your classes such as things at the gym etc. Im working on a new routine and i wanna see what people are up to. im mainly training BJJ atm for those of you wondering.

I had a journal from before my injuries, so i'll throw in that link here, and I hope Dave doesnt mind but i"m gonna throw in his as well as a few of the threads we discussed MMA training, and Strength Endurance training specifically.

My Original SE Journal

My Journal - MMA SE journal, cause i'm silly like that

ChinPieceDave667's Journal - Strength and Endurance for the Fighter in me

Timed Sets for MMA greatness

Complexes, Metabolic Power Training for MMA
Specific Strength Development in MMA

Streching and Flexibility

Kettlebell workouts

Ok, I may have gone a bit overboard there, but thats most of the threads containing MMA work.

^^^ Nicely done. You owned that question. :owned2:

But seriously, that is everything and more than what I was going to say.
If you have any specific question about they "styles" of workouts, ask away.
do you participate in any grappling tournaments? I have some endurance exercises in my journal that helped with my conditioning prep work before my tournaments.

After i get more expeience im going to up it to muy thai and MMA etc. My teacher is a pretty cool guy and learning with him is exciting. So is wathcing him fight too hes 4-0 pro now. won his 4 first round submissions :) But yeah im going to read through those journals for sure thanks for the help. keep checking the thread for questions because i love to ask them whcih im sure you guys are noticing haha.

My advice is, if they teach muay thai now, do it now. It is a hell of a workout and your cardio will only benefit from it. Trust me, when you start competing you will need it. Unless there are other things stopping you, time, money, work.

Andrew87 09-27-2007 02:42 PM

ya

i belive they have muy thai there but yeah money and work time conflict i belive is why i didnt do it before. Jiu jitsu is at 8-10pm est so im done with everything by then. But for sure all the grappling and shit is one hell of a cardio lol. im so dead afterwards, espically on GI days haha.

Andrew87 09-27-2007 02:45 PM

hmm

if you guys got some sort of diet i should aim for that will let me lose wieght but still give me energy let me know. right now im just keeping it low cal etc. Weights comming off steady and i been able to do my work outs easy. been doing the reduced weights higher reps shit. So much harder then 5x5 lol. More then likely its because my muscle stam sucks ass haha. Well im off to work peace
