Default Brisket?

I bought a slab last night, 11 lbs for $10.50. Marinated it in plain yogurt and cooking wine for a 1/2 hr, rinsed it off, then sprinkled on garlic powder (not garlic salt-yuck), and onion powder, and threw it in the mini-oven. I'm fixing to have some w/ some brown rice and veggies when it's time for meal #2, in about 15 min, yessir! So, who else likes brisket?

brisket is so good, depending on how you cook it. Sounds like you got it down ... I believe its a pretty fatty meat, but it works well on ckd's and such ... yummm

Oh, I threw a little vinegar in the marinade mix to help. It came out pretty tender (for beef), and there is a subtle taste of the wine in the meat. It has some fat deposits, but luckily, they tend to be in sections, that you can cut out entirely. If some manages to stay on the meat after cooking, I just bite it off, and throw it away. It happened while I was eating some earlier.

I always do dry rubs with briskets. Bake them (or grill) at 250 degrees for about 8 hours...brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika or cayenne, etc.
