Default Food Dehydrators For Jerky

So I was at Walmart today, or as I like to call its Satans Asshole, and I saw they ahd these food dehyrators for like $25. I heard people mention that they use these things to make their own beef jerky and so forth which would be great for snacks.

Anyone have one of these or ever use one? I don't know how good homemade jerky is in these cheap things but it would pay for itself in like a week because jerky is so expensive.

I have one that I bought at Wal-Mart as well..It works great! I get plenty of use out of that thing trust me...Jerkey takes about 10hrs. to make so I usually make it a few hours before bed so when I wake up its done!

My favorite recipe at the moment is taking either some ground beef,or ground turkey, and mixing it with taco seasoning.Just roll them up into meat balls then press flat....YUM

Opps this was Dave I forgot to sign out of Jenns name!

I have a nesco dehydrator, I think my mom paid $25 -35ish. It makes good jerky. I have only used the seasoning packets they gave me so far. Its easy to make and tastes good. Lots cheaper than buying 3oz or so of jerky for 5-8 bucks. I will make some with teryaki or soy this week.
It makes real good banana chips though. My dog goes crazy for them. bananas are only .99 for a bunch, so its a good deal. Ive made bigger peices, and time can take from 6-36 hours depending on the temperature.
It is inexpensive to try out, and can make some good stuff.

I have made my own Jerky. What I did was to buy some beef cut it up in to nice size pieces, then I put salt on them and dried them outside in the sun. I live in GA, so we got sun year around, as for u sleazy, I have no idea where arnold Shadow is? California is too wide of an area to find someone's location. After drying that in the sun for about a week or so I add the spice of my choice to it, then dry it on top of my fire place in a basket. Later on during my bad times, when I am broke, I take it out and tenderize it by using something like a hammer or a piston.
