Default Getting in 6 meals

When I eat 6 meals per day is it okay to have 4 solid food meals and 2 weight gain shakes? Due to time restraints I can't eat 6 chicken or steak dinners. So my plan is to eat 4 solid meals and drink two home made weight gain shakes. My shakes consist off, milk, oatmeal, whey, peanut butter and a banana. One shake is about 600 cals. I know that if I replaced my meals with some crap gainer like N-Large 2 it wouldnt be a good idea, but since my shakes are home made and basically consist of real food just blended up is that okay?

PS. Does the body absorb the nutrients from a blended shake the same as eating the food? Sometimes I just have the urge to dump a chicken breast in the blender and drink it lol.

I don't see any problem with having one or two shakes a day. The problem comes when people think they can rely on shakes for all their meals. The benefits of whole foods is that it speeds up your metabolism as your body has to expend more energy to break down the food when compared to a shake.

For the nutrients question, I believe your body will absorb the nutrients the same but with a shake it will be a much quicker process while the whole foods will take longer to break down and lead to a slower controlled nutrient release.

Sounds like you have a good plan going on. Two shakes a day isn't a problem, just pick the proper time in the day to take em'

I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

I would say right before bed and maybe one right after a workout
