Default How do you prepare yams/potatos

I'm a total klutz in the kitchen so the simplest and most straight forward to prepare food has priority over taste and appearance. Basically, what's the best way to prepare/cook yams and potatos?

Oh sooo many ways.

yams/sweet potatoes I like to just toss in foil, and bake at 400 for 30 min to 1hr or until tender to touch. eat plain, toss on brown suger or honey, maybe a pad of butter if you dare.

Or slice thin pieces and make like fries, they are goood.

Regular potatos:
breakfast, slice to make moons or thin circle slices, and fry with onion and garlic.

Red potatos:
same as yams, put in foil and in oven for 30-1hr. eat whole with a little bit o salt.

Make mashed potatoes: dont peel a potato, unless regular idahoe spud. Cut in chinks, drop in boiling water, wait til tender, take out and drain water, grab a masher, add some milk garlic and cream cheese, maybe chives, and dig in.

If you have left over mashed potatos, drop them on a frying pan and make potatoe pankakes in the morning.

Easy just wash your yams.sweet potatos, then punch several fork wholes on the and place on a cookie sheet.Bake at 400 degrees for 30 mins or until they are soft to the touch...

Now Sweet Potatoes ALA Dave(the bulk nutrition guys know this one)

Take your baked sweet potato/yam and peel the skin off or simply cut it down the middle and open it up..Then add cinnamon,a packet of splenda, and some fat free Cool Whip....Its even good cold and used as a dessert!...Enjoy

I always get mines from Wendy's. 99 cents for a baked potato with sour cream and chives, you cant beat that.

Yeap, I go for the Yams from dave's recipe. It is really good when battling a raging sweettooth.

This is it. It is also over at BN. Everytime I eat it, it reminds me of Thanksgiving desert.
