Well his problem that he is typical. People go to one extreme or the other. You got one person telling you you have to eat like a glutten to extremes and look like a whale to gain muscle, and then guys like him telling you you don't need to eat a lot to gain muscle. Both are worthless, imo. Look to the middle ground and therein usually lies the answer.

Not everybody who talks about this stuff is motivated by the same things. A frequent motivation is simply to be noticed and heard. So the strategy is to shout louder than the other guy. Face is, a moderate "ordinary" stance is not what most people want to read. They want the extreme. The fantastic. So guys like that are more concerned with being "on the fringe". They want to have their point be heard by sheer force of exaggeration. Listen to me, I'm different, I know the secret.

If I tell you that it is hard work to dial in your diet and it takes a lot of monitoring and adjusting, that you need to eat a coloric surplus but that you don't need to go to extremes and pack on mounds of bodyfat I am not going to sound as cool as the guy who tells you to do 'extreme eating' or the polar opposite. Why? What I say sounds like it's work, lol.

I definitely agree with you Eric. Most people who want to be heard, like this guy, say the outrageous in order to get noticed. The bad thing is some people will buy into their bull and end up making themselves worse off than they were before. I would rather do the hard work and get tangible results I can be proud of. Yes, that view is unpopular because it is not easy but it works.

So, yes the guy is a nut!!!!

Notice how he gave no specifics at all, he makes general statements about how "pro's eat like gluttons" ect ect. I agree that for most people eating and training like an "Pro" isnt going to get you very far, unless your using the same amount of gear they are. But that doesnt mean you dont have to eat a surplus to make gains and grow. You have to feed your body right to get what you want out of it.
