So what is the healthy choice at Subway then? Should I just opt to eat a Big Mac when im out to dine instead?

Turkey or chicken type things I would suspect except not salad. They have breakdowns of most of the standard subway stuff at NutritionData.com if that helps. Or you could not worry about it and eat what you want every once in a while...just don't make a lifestyle out of it.

No! I just posted that to show you how misleading some of Subway is. If you are out and need to get fast food Subway is better than most choices. But it isn't that great.

If you are gonna get a sub, get one on Jared's list. All these have 6 grams of fat or less (for the six inch version) and are around 300-400 calories. They are definitly a lesser evil than McDonald's, but they still aren't great. The protein is kind of low. Probablly, because Subway skimps on their meat. You can get double meat, but that's a few dollars more.

A salad would be the best choice. Unfortuantly Subway charges almost $2 to turn any sub into a salad. Why the hell it costs them $2 to take away the bread and add a little more lettuce is beyond me.

I was reading an article that graded various types of foods. They were given letter grades from A to F. The idea is to get as many A and B foods as possible and to avoid most (if not all D and F) foods. One of the 'A' foods was 100% Whole Wheat Bread. Other types of bread were given a 'D'. Which is the main reason why I am giving up Subway until they introduce a whole wheat bread. Just as well, its pricey and I'll save some cash.

As for the not being able to edit until 50 posts thing.... Kinda silly, but whatever. I wasn't doing a 'drive-by'. I usually forget to mention something or make some sort of mistake. I'm not one to post on forums just to up my post-count.

What? Dude, I was making a little joke I wasn't accusing you. I gave you the info about the 50 posts so's you wouldn't keep trying to figure out how to edit. Of course everyone wants to be able to edit. The 50 posts was implemented to prevent the practice of people who come by and ask a question or something and then delete it later and never coming again...just leaving behind a corrupted thread. It helps keep the forum clean. It's not there as an accusation.

The drive-by comment was me joking about my OWN post not yours. Sorry if you thought I was talking about you.

Well, a footlong is a lot more food than a big mac. A 6 inch is more comparable, therefore making them comparable.

Alright, sorry I misunderstood. I guess I understand the reasoning behind the no edit until the 50th post now, I just have never seen a disabled edit button before.

Well if you watch the Subway commercials where the compare their subs to McDonald's I'm pretty sure they use their 12" subs. I could be wrong. But, even if you do the 6" tuna on wheat, its at least as bad a infamous Big Mac - one of the poster children for fast food junk food.

The difference is when one orders a Big Mac they know they are about to eat junk, when one orders a tuna on wheat at subway they usually have no idea. And I don't have a problem with cheat meals, its when you think you're eating a healthy meal and are actually eating junk that problems start occuring.
