Default weight gain

I have seen countless times on this forum and others that people want to gain weight. "Im 160 i wanna get to 180 in 4 months" and other cases, so what they do is eat a freaking insane amount of food down their throats. I really dont see the point for eating so much food. If you want muslce, eat protein and take the right supplements, eat carbohydrates for protein synthesis energy, and eat fruit and multi vitamins for other minerals. Whats the idea behind eating all that food to gain weight?

Intake Calories- Expended Calories = Caloric surplus/deficit

If you run a deficit you have nothing left to fuel muscle growth, on the surplus end you have something to fuel muscle growth. Very high metabolism combined with workouts and the occasional activity means very large number of calories burnt in a day, which in turn means and even larger number of calories consumed to maintain the surplus.

There is a point where you stop and say your surplus is rediculous and you don't need that much. But it all boils down to this...How much are you feeding your muscles?

you said it yourself right there, if you want to grow you need to eat. So many people think they have thier bulking diet down, then they add up the numbers and they are taking in 2200 cals a day. You need to give your muscles what they need to grow, and in most cases for guys who are smaller, that means taking in a lot of p/f/c.
