Gender: | I'm really struggling to get to my daily protein needs. I'm at 185 this morning and that equates to 370 grams of protein for my bulking/building phase. Is there a huge disadvantage to using a high quality when protein rather than trying to stuff 2 pounds of chicken every day. The whey seems to be more concentrated in protein. Also, is 52 grams at a time too much to take in. I am eating a balanced diet with good carbs and veggies as well. Thanks! Rick |

Gender: | Real food is better than whey. Try and get your protein from real food and remember that whey is a supplement for a reason. Try using 1.5grams per pound of lean body weight. Which means you should subtract your fat from your total body weight and use that weight. There is a ceiling on how much protein you can take in, if your body doesn't need it then you're going to just crap it out and those forcefeeds/shakes were in vain. 52 grams is not too much to take in, but smaller and more frequent meals are better. |

Gender: | Most people have issues trying to hit their protein numbers, I personally can only eat so much chicken, beef, or whatever whole protein sources without getting full or sick of it. I am supposed to hit around 56grams a meal and I find it helps sometimes to do a mix of whole foods and whey protein. So for example I'll get half the protein from whole foods and then just take a scoop of slower digesting whey to get the rest. As mentioned whole foods are preferable, but the main goal is to get the protein in so if your throwing away half your meal because you can't finish it your not helping yourself. |
