Default Anabolic State!

I was speaking to a personal trainer at my gym together, an older gentleman whose been in the business for over 35 years, he's quite big and in shape if i might add aswell considering his age.

Anyhow, he spoke to me about creating a state of inbalance in you're body nutrition wise. He told me that since protein and carbs are a major part of my diet, that every 7-8 months i should force myself into eating very little protein and carbs for about 2 weeks (hard i know). He was very persuading, telling me that by doing this the body will automatically go into an anabolic state once you start eating properly again, thus exploding muscle gains/fat gains.

He preached to me that he got people gaining as much as 45 pounds in 6 months, i saw some photos and i was highly impressed.

The caloric deficiet achieved by the lack of protein and carbs could consquently make you lose weight unless you manage to find a way to remain at a stable weight, but has anyone attempted this type of nutritional endevour in any way?

This guy is full of crap and dangerous. He's a total dumbass. Look, guys in the 70's didn't and couldn't do it and they always did hard core heavy training. Dianibol is the finishing touch. It is proper training and nutrition. If you make a gain of 15 lbs of muscle in a year you've done well. I tell my trainees that protein, creatine, multi vitamin are your staples. Eat good whole grain fruits and vegetables, tuna, chicken.....train hard and rest even harder.

I agree, but i mean the persuading intrigue he placed on it really appealed to my senses, hence why i was wondering if anyone had ever considered this possible method etc. Im a firm believer on the eat heavy train heavy method of gaining mass
