best nutrition book

What is the best nutrition book out there? I was reading about an anabolic diet one on another site. Any thoughts?

Could you describe it a little. I know it says there are certain times to eat certain foods, ect. I also know it doesn't want you to use any protein supplements pre and postworkout. So what are you supposed to eat? Why is it worth all that money?

The Ketogenic Diet-Lyle Mcdonald
UD 2.0- Lyle Mcdonald
Nutrient Timing-John Ivy Ph.D&Robert Portman Ph.D

Those should keep you busy for a while.

good stuff dave. I also liked burn the fat, feed the muscle.
Other things associated with bodybuilding, Id say, are mental book, motivational style. Setting goals, possitive thinking /affirmation. In workouts ive seen coleman go "too light, too light" throwing up weight. If you think you can do it, you will, think you cant, you wont. I like old school sales style like Zig Ziggler, Robbins, and Thomas Stanley. Tom Venuto has one out more tailored to Working out. There is a lot of free info at his site too, fitren.com.

I am going to have to look around for those.

The Body Opus by Dan Duchaine predates Lyle's books.

"The Precontest Bible" looks like an interesting book by Larry Pepe. Although I'm quite sceptical about his "Sprayflex" line of homo supplements.

Dan and Lyle were critical of Pasquale's Anabolic Diet only in that he didn't include exercise timing with the diet. I think with cyclical ketogenic diets, exercise timing is crucial for the anabolic effects of the diet, as well as reinstituting the keto phase for fast and consistent bodyfat reduction.
