bodybuilding in college
hey guys, lately my college life has become much more social than i would have planned, ie, i am out drinking 3 nights a week, usually about 7 beers a night...obviously i know this is bad in terms of fat storage, however i have also read that alcohol hurts muscle growth. due to the fact that i am 215lbs, i do not reach the point of total intoxication from this amount of alcohol, i still eat before i go to bed and eat the next day just fine, however i am wondering how much is too much in terms of directly effecting muscle growth, hangovers do not seem to be a problem so my performance in the gym is not hindered. Is there any way to know how many shots i should be looking at before it starts to hurt muscle growth? thanks

Just keep in mind that the more you drink, the more your gains will be influenced. You'll still grow, just not as much. You're not drinking that excessively and it's not influencing you that much apparently, so it probably isn't hurting you that much. It's hard to quantify the damage. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you unless you start to notice a loss of performance in the gym. You're in college. Live it up.
