Cereal
Anyone have any advice about a good LOW GI, HIGH CALORIE cereal? I'm tired of oatmeal at breakfast. I would rather eat the cardboard container than the oatmeal. I've tried just about everything and I've found that oatmeal tastes like oatmeal. And I DO NOT LIKE OATMEAL.

got a blender?
milk...a couple eggs....oatmeal...whey...olive oil...blend. drink :) |
I have done that but I used a tbsp of natty PB in place of the eggs. I tried it with cooked oatmeal. I tried it with dry oatmeal. I have done oatmeal in a normal shake. Cooked and uncooked. I have mixed whey with cooked oatmeal. I have cooked my oatmeal on the stove. I have cooked it in the microwave. I have mixed whey with uncooked oatmeal and a little milk. I have eaten plain cooked oatmeal. I have eaten raw oatmeal. I have done most of these combinations with and without cinnamon. I have tried them with different flavors of protein powder. I have cooked the oatmeal in water. I have cooked it in milk. I will try it with eggs in the morning. Do you cook the eggs? Whole eggs or just the whites? Or both?

try creame of wheat

Good call. I will pick some up the next time I go to the store. I did a search and most of the bran cereals are pretty good also.

Thanks. I didn't look hard enough. Why are there 4 numbers beside certain cereals? (ex/ Cheerios)
|
There shouldn't be....the cheerios shouldn't have the 15...the list didn't make it though too good.
Just go here... http://www.mendosa.com/GI_GL_Carb_data1.xls. It's an excel spreadsheet. Sleazy also has a sticky of a whole bunch of listings. |
thanks

I'm with you on the oatmeal. HATE IT!
Like you, I used to mix dry oatmeal with milk and protein powder and suffer through getting it down my throat. Finally decided it just wasn't worth the effort and dropped oatmeal all together. |
