Cure for the guy that likes spicy things?
 
Im still trying to adjust to my new diet, but one of my main food loves, mexican, looks to be out of the picture for the most part. would refried beans or black beans on a flour tortilla with a little hot sauce and cheese kill me? Right now just before I hit the sack Im eating a small chicken breast with hot sauce, and some fresh sliced jalapinios on top.. some people have a sweet tooth, mines more for all things spicy. Just wondering more or less i guess if anyone out there has any nutritional ideas to incorporate my odd needs?

I have no idea what your new diet is. You can still incorporate mexican food and/or spices though.

Well to give you an idea, oatmeal or whole grain cereal for breakfast with a couple boiled eggs, can of tuna around 10am, tuna or chicken breast for lunch with a side of fat free cottage cheese and or fat free yogurt, carrots or broccoli, same goes for dinner as well sometimes I add in a side salad with fat free italian dressing. Then the usual whey protien shake before and after my workout, sometimes another one or 2 throughout the day... For all I know my diet may be screwed up too but I kind of put it together based on some things I have been reading lately.

Let me rephrase that. What is the point of your diet? Are you trying to lose weight, gain weight, or maintain weight?

Your meal frequency is very low. You're eating only 3-4 times per day. It should be +5 times. Your calories are very low also. And your protein intake is low.

Like Ross said we would need to know what your main goal is to give specific critiques on your meals but in general you can create some very healthy Mexican style meals. You just need to modify the nutritional info according to your daily caloric intake goals.

Hot Sauce, Salsa, and pico de gallo are great toppers for your chicken or lean beef as they don't add hardly any calories. Same with hot peppers, onions, and other veggies.

Avocado or guacamole is a great healthy fat source.

The cheese is questionable depending on your goals, but you can always use a low fat version to make it healthier.

If your allowing yourself to eat carbs then you can always just throw all of this into a whole wheat tortilla or on top of some brown rice.

Beans are a good source of carbs and protein, but once again it will depend on your goals. If your buying prepared ones be sure to check the labels for added sodium and unhealthy fats.

^^^^^just to add a little, I wouldnt eat the re-fried beans in alot of restuarants, they use pure lard to make them. You can buy fat free refried beans at the grocery store in a can already made.

My goal is to bulk up, I dont want to gain any fat by any means, if anything maybe lose a little. I wouldnt say Im ever really full, but Im satisfied enough to live, I could always eat a lot more but Im fearful that all Im going to do is gain unwanted weight instead of muscle..

When you bulk, you're going to gain fat . . To gain muscle you're going to have to put on fat. You don't have to eat everything in sight and become a fat ass but yeah if you're bulking you're going to have to have tons more calories than you're diet you mentioned earlier . . That actually looked somehwat like someone would eat if they were on a cut.

Well in trying to bulk up quick, to provide myself a better chance at faster muscle gains do I need to be as strict on what I am taking in for calories or is a normal big meal once a day an option? Not saying big macs but you get the idea, its hard to get that many calories eating as picky as I have been. I am 6'5" about 235-240lbs... Not super thin, but not overweight either.

To bulk up quick you'll be more prevalent to gain fat, due to the fact you'll have to eat a lot and you can't always eat perfect, because in bulking the main idea is calories. Yes of course you want the chicken, steak, tuna all that good stuff, but when it comes down to it yea from time to time you're gunna have to scarf down a big mac and fries for some extra calories. You grow out of the gym, and in eating a meal like that once or twice a week isn't gunna kill you. I'm only about 6' and i weight 230 right now and am bulking. I won't stop until im closer to 250. But like I said it's mainly a clean bulk with a "cheat" meal if that's what you want to call it thrown in there every now and then because you need the calories to grow. Gaining fat is just part of the game bro.
