Drink Black or Green Tea with your fish
For those who eat lots of tuna that worry about mercury I read in Men's Health that if you drink black or green tea with your fish it could block the toxins (mercury) from entering your blood by up to 92%. It is said the catechins in the tea may react with the mercury to create a new compound that cannot be absorbed into the body during digestion.

I had never heard that. Thanks! I'm gonna try that next time I eat tuna!

I like reading those type of articles. They have some in Muscular Development, and other Pro BB mags. Other than the pictures, the research/studies columns are the only things worth looking at in them. :)

I have actually heard this before, from very profesional nutritionists and trainers.
Green tea is actually very beneficial for any diet: it cleanses your body, so I would say that the idea makes sense. |
Just dont forget that there are mass amounts of caffeine in green and black tea. Not anything to be alarmed about, but something to be aware of if you drink a lot of it.

I was under the impression that green tea had the lowest caffeine, correct me if I am wrong please....
|
I think alot can depend on how the tea is made. However an average coffee contains approx 80 milligrams of caffeine, an average green tea contains 20 milligrams of caffeine. this is using one small heap spoon of coffee with 8flz of water, and one tea bag with 8flz of water.
