drinking coffee

Do you guys think there is any adverse effect to drinking 1-3 cups of coffee a day? Will this effect anything besides adding a small amount of sugar to my diet?

EricT 01-23-2010 08:30 AM

Not really, no. Can blunt your appetite a bit if you drink them all at once.

Pirate 01-23-2010 09:05 AM

oh yeah, I have heard something about the sugar in coffee if you drink it first thing can lesson your appetite for breakfast or something like that...I don't know, alright as long as its not having a massive impact though, I am a big lover of coffee

EricT 01-23-2010 09:22 AM

I think it's the caffeine more than the sugar that reduces your appetite. Or that could do so.

TALO 01-23-2010 11:22 AM

if you drink it black then it can actually boost ur metabolism the caffeine helps to boost it and so does the temperature ( ur body burns more calories when tryin to regulate the hot temperature)

I struggle with this. I am 23 years old and have been drinking 2-3 cups a day since I was 17. I have a lot of extra body fat on my 5 foot 9, 163 pound frame, and I attribute most of this to not having an appetite in the morning. It is very hard for me to eat breakfast in the morning after or while drinking my coffee, so in the past I often times would simply not eat breakfast. I simply have NO appetite when I wake up and I credit a lot of it to the coffee.

Over the last 2 weeks, I've been taking in my breakfast first and a glass of water (or 2) and THEN drinking my coffee about 30 minutes after and I feel a LOT better throughout the day.

It worked for me, if you run in to any of my problems or similar ones hopefully you can try what I did.

I am a great lover of coffee but i drink only a cup of coffee in a day because it is not good to drink too much coffee in a day because it has some side effects so we should drink it but not too much.

Taylor 08-26-2011 09:49 PM

Yes i agree with Rose that excess of everything is bad and too much coffee is also not good for health so i prefer to take one cup of coffee per day is enough.

Tmno 08-28-2011 05:09 AM

i dont think it can have any adverse effects, 1-3 cups of coffee a day sounds normal

Kevsworld 08-31-2011 08:54 PM

2-3 cups a day is 100% fine as long as you aren't sensitive to caffeine (and you probably aren't if you are drinking that much). Some studies even show health benefits, such as reduced cancer risks, etc. Caffeine is also really good for reducing appetite and burning fat.

V. Starkwell 01-20-2012 05:35 AM

A cup of coffee is also good (for an extra push) an hour before lifting. However, if you drink it throughout the day, you won't reap that benefit.

jj1965 03-12-2012 09:56 PM

Hope not I drink more than three cups! I do like a cup before I work out helps to get me going.

Instead of drinking coffee you should try green tea. it is healthy for our body. Apart from green tea u can also take milk shake or protein juice...

I have been looking all over for the information about drinking Coffey. I think sugar-free black Coffey is good. Anyway thanks to all.

d4lrap25 07-23-2012 02:15 PM

theres no effects, but is not good because your body will get used to it

Abbott 08-06-2012 10:27 PM

Usually there is no issue if you drink coffee. It only effects on your appetite. As it reduces your appetite.Hence It is product of sugar. So you should drink it at a level.

Daniell 08-31-2012 01:29 AM

i would say that a single cup or two a day dosent causes any harm but its advantageous as due to its antioxidants if you are too cautious about your health then i would recommend you to have sugar free coffee

lardycake 09-05-2012 03:09 PM

Coffee is great. The only downside is reduced tolerance and caffeine withdrawal which can cause headaches if you drink it loads and then suddenly stop.
