Egg Whites by The Tub?!?!?
So I was doing some google searching and found this site: Lanas Eggwhites. They sell eggwhites by the tub with 165 eggwhites in a huge tub! Its kind of funny to me but the more I think about, it might be worth it to not have to sit there and seperate eggs in the morning and waste the yolks :)
They even market them to bodybuilders, just look at the frontpage. |
Damn, thats great. 16 tubs and get 4 free! Thats equal to 3300 eggs! :D Comparing that price to the pasturized egg whites at wal-mart thats a helluva savings.
|
Where would I keep 16 tubs! Hell 20 tubs!! I would think they have to be refrigerated. If they charge 12 bucks for shipping 5 tubs then it's on, but if they charge 12 bucks for shipping each one then forget it, that's to rich for my blood.

If any of you guys have seen the cost of redemption video ronnie drinks those, Eggology makes them check it out https://www.eggology.com
I have some too, but I buy them in much smaller quantities. One little carton has about 50g of protein so it's not bad for scrambled eggs in the morning or something, they have no taste tho but it's alright. |
whats the point of eating an egg if you're not eating the yolk? the yolk is what turns into the baby chicken, yumm
|
Because then the egg has 0g of fat. And if you're eating like 4 yolks in a row it gets kind of unhealthy while you can eat like 6 or 7 egg whites without being too worried about it.. Besides the gas you'll get later.

the fat in egg yolks is good for you

I don't know Gary, but every morning for breakfast I eat a six whole egg omelet or scrambled eggs, with bacon, 3 fish caps. and my cholesterol levels were normal, in my latest blood panels. I've been eating like this the past 6 months. Although everyone is different and eating six whole eggs every morning, may not be a good idea, for someone with already elevated cholesterol. I know the egg yolk is filled with lecithin, and lecithin is what some doctors recommend for high LDL, high tryglycerides. So, who knows, what's good for tha goose may not be good for th.....ahh you know how it goes! Peace Out! |
Yeah Snachito, I know that's why I take lecithin tabs every morning. But personally, I see no need to go eating the extra cholesterol when I can eat just the egg whites alone. At lunch I make myself 1 cup of pure eggwhites it works out to just over 25g of protein, 0g of fat... To get 25g of protein from normal eggs I'd hafta eat about 5 eggs with the yolk too which would be around 30g of fat..

Yes I realize that, but why eat the extra fat if you don't have to..
|
I think for me personally, because I'm such a cheap azz, eggs are just more economical. I just can't see myself spending extra money for these tubs of egg whites. Even though eggs are cheap I still can't bring myself to throw out the yolks, to get the whites!
I was just trying to save you some cash Gary, but you make a good point about not wanting the extra fat. I just try to look at different ways to save some moolah, and use my hard earned money to buy other supps that will help. So, if this works for you Gary then more power to you! Peace! |
eww
Have any of you tried the egg whites in a tub? They're NASTY.
A trainer I used a while ago recommended them, so I got a vat. They're definately marketed to bodybuilders because they're fortified with extra protein. Don't remember how much, or what the brand was. But it was a white tub with a green label with a rooster on it. The rooster might have even been flexing his bicep. Definately gross stuff. Although, most of it may have been mental - I was convinced I'd hate it before I even opended it. Threw it away after 2 servings (or more accurately.. I let it rot in my fridge for a few weeks after the second serving) |
cooked or raw, wich is more benificial

I wonder if I can get tubs of eggs at the Sams warehouse store here. I don't have time to cook them in the mornings, but I wouldn't mind throwing them in the blender with the rest of my shakes. Hell, I used to eat raw eggs back in HS, so it wouldn't be anything new to me.

I have had Lanas egg whites and although the price and convenience is great they just don't taste quite right. I prefer to eat the whole egg anyway since I want the fat. I just recently had my colesterol checked and it was 168 which pisses off all my friends on how it could be so low when I eat 3 dozen whole eggs a week. And that's while cutting.
|
Damn that gross guys. :D
|
At the sam's club near me, they have liquid egg whites.. I eat 1cup everyday, very conveinent.

Cool Gary. The next time I am in that store I am going to have to pick some up. I am sure it is faster than me trying to crack the eggs and not drink the broken shells that fell in the glass. :D
