An example of a lean red meat would be Lean Red meat. Instead of getting the top choice cuts, get the select when u buy meat from the butcher. :D

yes, I would suggest going to the butcher and asking for lean cuts of meat, I'm not sure what the leanest cuts are off hand.. think inside rounds are fairly lean can'tt remember. Do some searching online even about different cuts. Obviously the more visible fat and marbling the less lean it is.. damn the fat can make it tasty though hehe.

Yup, like they said, if you buy from the counter, you can ask them to trim it, or give you a lean cut. Just buy something that doesnt look too marbled.
If you buy from the shelves, for beef, buy Sirloin. Sirloin is usually 5% fat, chuck is 20% fat, and there is another one I think. They tell you the percentages on the package.
lean in general would be turkey, chicken (just cut the big clumpy white fat off it) tuna.

so what about muscle milk it seems to be high in saturated fat but it claims to "burn fat" so how does this work? Anybody ever use this stuff?

Well if they claim it burns fat then it must right.. we all know supp companies always tell us the truth :D Perhaps in a sense since it can because it can help you build muscle which in turn helps you burn more fat. I think it does contain EFAs as well, which will help you burn fat. I haven't tried it so I can't really say, but with the amount of fat in that stuff I'd say unless you have a super high metabolism or are on some kinda gear this stuff will just make you fat.

Like Taurus said we all need a certain amount of fat in our diet, but I believe in trying to get most of these from sources of EFAs. A lean cut of red meat still has enough fat on it in my opinion. Eating fatty cuts of meat on a regular basis simply is not healthy, it will clog your arteries, raise your cholesteral and seriosuly raise your chances of getting heart disease. I say if you can avoid fatty meats, then go for it.

Usually flank steak, top round, milanesa are low in fat. There is a fine line you don't want to cross when it comes to saturated fats. Too much saturated fat of course we know what the consequences can be, as Speedster already commented on it.
