Veggie burgers >> meat burgers
I've heard that veggie burgers, and most veggie-meat products in general have more protien then the meat ones. Is this true? I've seen veggie burgers with about 14g of protien each. I'm not sure hwo much meat ones have.

I'm not sure how much your daily intake is and assuming your eating 2-3 burgers, its a comparison of 30-45grams (veggie) vs 50-75grams. Plus I'm also assuming you're gonna have these maybe once or twice a week.
Personally I would go with the beef ones because you're getting more bang for your buck with the protein. But with a smaller calorie intake where you dont' have to force feed multiple meals a day, its easy enough to make up those 20 odd grams with another meal. If your daily calories are fairly low, I would say eat whichever you prefer If your calories are high, go with the beef |
I'm just guessing but is it soy protein in veggie burgurs
|
Thats a good point joker, if it is a soy based protien, then I wouldnt eat them if they were free.
|
LOL, your still on about that? Paranoia. They have less protein. End of story.

yeah you know me, besides, have you ever seen the people who drink soy milk? If thats not enough evidence for you eric, then I say your a blind man ... BLIND I TELL YA :biglaugh:

All things in moderation! Not only have I seen people who drink soy milk I used to be one (for various reasons). But don't isolate single dietary variables. Not only can you have too much soy milk you can have too much fiber (in vegan diets), shortages, all sorts of problems. Overreliance on a limited diet is bad in the long run, no doubt about it, with much of the problem coming from digestive disturbances. But if you look at one thing someone consumes and blame that on whatever shortcomings you percieve then you are making the same mistake as the people who perpetuate this airy fairy pseudo-science :D.
As per my usual take on soy: I wouldn't consume LARGE quantities of soy products made with soy concetrate. The traditional fermented products are much better. If you want to use a lot of soy use a soy isolate and if you turn into a woman, I'll eat my hat. BTW, the addtion of methionine to soy isolate has improved it's BV. I don't really care one way or another I just don't like the BS info. |
Hmm which BS info are you referring to eric?
