Gender: | well im taking weight lifting at school .we have to add 10 lbs every six weeks to are (bench press ,paralle squat ,and power clean). we do 3 full body work outs every week ,and we run,and stretch 2 times a week ,and are off for 2 days. well my lifts are pretty good ,but i dont look very big for what i lift. my arms are only 12.5 inches with out flexing ,and alot of people are surprized by what i lift. these are my stats age -almost 17 height-5ft 7inches weight 158 lbs bench press -230 lbs -1 rep paraell squat-265 lbs -1 rep ( was higher but i got weaker cause i hurt my back) power clean-175 lbs -1rep i do have long arms ,so i must be going to get taller sometime ,but is there anything i can do that will help make my arms a little bigger ,because i eat alot of food ,but that doesnt help any. i was also wondering if it is ok to lift when i get home from school ,because sometimes the workouts at school suck. |

| Rank: Member Experience: 1-2 Years | (This might belong in the training forum...?) When you say "a lot of food", what does that mean, exactly? Can you give us an average day? If you're anything like me, you might be overestimating what you're eating. I was overestimating my diet by a solid 1000 calories, maybe even a little more. Also, are bench, squat, and power clean the only exercises you do, or are there others in this routine at school? Your numbers seem pretty good though, so just keep eating and remember that your body wants to get 1.5-2.0 g of protein per day in order to grow. Also, man, if that's your picture from fairly recently - you look fine, your arms don't seem that small in that pic. Good luck bro. |

Gender: | Well i dont know what other lifts you do, but if your doing alot of sets 3 times a week to try and get your arms to grow, that could be killing you. Try doing compound movements like rows, pullups, and overhead pressing and eating closer to 3,000 calories a day and see where that gets you... |

So if you're only eating 2000-2500 calories and you're moving a lot of weight in the gym you might not be giving yourself enough fuel to grow. |

Gender: | well i dont even think i could eat over 3000 calories ,because sometimes i only eat like 2500 calories and it makes me feel sick. plus alot of the stuff i eat is low in calories ,so it takes along time to add up ,and my mom ,and dad are the ones who buy the food ,and they try to buy food that is good for you ,and i have to watch ,and try not to eat all of it ,because i have two brothers ,and they eat alot to. |
