Default Bruising BAD!!! wtf?

As some of you know i've been having a little issue lately with my right pec. Specifically the part that runs from the pec to the shoulder/armpit area for some time. I thought it was bench that was doing it, then I realized that it had to be something in the Rows/deads that was making it feel so tight.

well, last night as i'm getting into bed, the girl says "hey, what is that bruise on your back" ... so I look in the mirror and there is a tennis ball size bruise on my right lat. Its freaking purple an shit, and I know I havent been hit with anything back there. Its just below my shoulder, on my back.

I imediately thought of 0311 and his pec tear, and I am a little concerned. The bruise doesnt hurt, infact it isnt even close to wear the "discomfort" is in my pec region, is this an odd coincidence? or could I have a small tear in my lat? I always thought it would hurt more then this if it was a tear, hell i havent even lost any range of motion, not to mention I'm still pushing over 300lbs on bench without any real problem ...

any insight would be helpful guys, thanks.

I think you need to go to the doctor Hrdgain. Seriously. Get a work up. It doesn't sound like a pulled muscle, you're right. It just sounds like spontaneous bruising. Maybe you bumped into something and don't remember or maybe it's from where pressure was applied during a workout, which isn't normal.

Have you noticed any more signs of bleeding. Maybe your gums or something?

Also what kind of fish oil are you taking. How much and how long have you been taking it?

Just things to consider. It it's not a pulled muscle it's probable just one of those things. We all get bruises sometimes that we don't recall...

Well, I havent been bleeding at all, no nose bleeds or gums or anything. I havent used fish oil in about 2 weeks, I ran out and havent ordered any more yet, it was ON's brand when I was using it.

I'm not sure, there is a chance I hit something, I was drinking this weekend, so I may not remember it. But I kinda doubt it. I just thought it was strange especially since it on the same side as the wierd pec sensation i've been having.

I have to find a good doctor near where I live, I will work on that today and see what I can find.

Yeah, you know it's just one bruise. Usually I would expect some pain. If you get more strange bruises you should probably pay attention.

Too much fish oil overtime can cause bleeding and bruising, which is why I mentioned that but it can't be that.

I can't see how it could be related to the pec thing. Which could be a pec, shoulder, or bicep problem, really.

It's really probable nothing but you have a lot of health complaints lately so you know you need to see a doctor.

The only thing i was thinking with the pec thing was that possibly because of a problem with my back muscle ( a small tear purhaps) my pec, bi had to over compensate, and thus was pulled a little.

If you cannot remember getting hit or any reason for the bruise, I'd stop before it gets worse. I've had a few friends of mine who tore muscles such as a lat. If I remember correctly, he was doing barbell rows, fairly heavy, with an underhanded grip (not that it matters). I'd schedule an appointment to be sure if you have health insurance. You may notice as the days go by that the bruise will grow covering a larger area as the blood rises to the skin.

Hrdgain, go get it checked out before things get bad. Better to be safe than sorry and pushing a bad situation could really hurt later on. Take care of yourself.

Thanks for the kind words guys, here is what the doctor said.

The bruse looked like it was from an impact, and that it was roughly a few days old, as of this morning it is significantly reduced in size, so it really nothing to worry about. For whatever reason I was being a bitch and over reacted.

I had some other issues checked out while I was there, my reaction to carbs has always been problematic for me, so they are checking for diabetes, and other such issues. They are also officially checking to see if I have celiac, which the doc seemed to think was not a real possibility.

I am very bad with having blood taken, I was very close to passing out a few times, and my arms look like I'm a heroine addict cause the nurse couldnt find a vien ... she poked each arm 3 or 4 times. I went home and slept the rest of the day.

The issue with my pec may be a slight tear, so i'm going to lay off this week and next on the upper body stuff. I'm just going to run, and hit legs next week. Then asses from there how I feel.

I'll let ya'll know what the blood work says.
