Gender: | Those of you who have been in your "chosen" careers, How do you feel about it? I for one have been in mine for 18 years...and I'm F'n DONE. Decided it's time for a major change. |

I do drive a truck, but that's just a small part of it. I deliver to anywhere from 14-20 different places a day unloading from 11,000 to 17,000lbs, all with a hand truck, no pallets. Back when I was about 18 or so I decided what I was going to do. Started training, studying for it. At 20 started the process....and let some f'n bitch talk me out of it. Till this day I regret not following through with it. Since I don't want to be doing what I'm doing now for the rest of my life, it's just time for me to move on. The problem with my job is in 5,10,15 years I'll still be doing the same shit, dead end f'n job. And because it pays ok (55-65g's yr) I have put up with it. | |

Gender: | Well I notice you said you LET someone talk you out of your dream. To me that's wha't relevant and it seems like you knew that. Ultimately it's your decision what you do. No one can kill our dreams but ourselves. We may let others influence us but we ain't children. I understand exactly what you're going through. It's good, I think, that you make the decision now versus when you're muich older and you feel like it's too late to start over, the money is too hard to give up, and you feel "stuck". Good luck on everything, Joker. |
