Could you pass the latest citizenship test?

In October 2008 a new version of the U.S. citizenship test will be taken by all applicants. Could you pass it? The questions are usually selected from a list of 100 samples that prospective citizens can look at ahead of the interview. Some are easy, some are not. We have picked some of the more difficult ones.

NOTES: Candidates are not given multiple choices in the naturalization interview. The following questions have been adapted from the immigration service’s sample questions.

95% - the only one i missed was how many amendments does the constitution have, but of course i am a social studies major education major so i should probably do pretty well on this seeing as it is what i will be be teaching

95% also. i got the year the constitution was written wrong, and a good guess on the current chief justice.

HULK2211 07-06-2008 08:42 PM

Well if you combine our scores we did better than everybody else 105% :biglaugh:

But shhhhh, the Gov. might try to deport us if they catch wind of this

MONSTAFACE 07-07-2008 10:20 AM

^^^^ yea ill keep it on the hush. and i guess it even worst that i guess on some of the ones i got right :)

hrdgain81 07-07-2008 11:24 AM

I got a 75% ... but i tend to not really read questions before I answer. That would be the reason for my SAT scores hahahah.

You and me both...

IronKitten 07-07-2008 04:02 PM

Damn, good thing I don't have to take that test! :biglaugh:

I didn't do so hot. History and Gov't were the two subjects I hated in school. I guess I just proved how little I payed attention back then haha.

RobS 07-07-2008 04:30 PM

something i was thinking about today at work - the questions on the test are essentially trivia questions, they are good general things to know, but i really don't see how they have much bearing on how good/productive someone will be as a citizen

HSfootball16 07-09-2008 04:00 PM

yea, simple math and language skills would be much better.
