Default Healing of a pulled muscle

I just pulled my groin at the gym tonight and was wondering if anyone had an idea on how to speed up the healing process. I have a physical test for my towns fire dept. in a week.

Squat - 285X2
Bench - 205X1

Golf Tee - Anyone who can bench more than they can squat and/or deadlift.

A groin pull? That might actually be a lot of things from a pull of the adductor magnus to a hip flexor strain.

The only general advice I can give is to ice it now. Read the beginning of the injuries sticky for the details of that. And that will give you the steps to follow laid out in a 1,2,3, step by step manner.

I wouldn't put anything on it like a rub or whatever at this point.

Hot tubbing is good. But only after the first few days. Heat should be avoided at first.

I just rotated hot and cool packs for a few days and it healed up pretty well. It was definetly a minor pull.
