Actually i'm quite handy. You name it i've done it. I haven't built a house from the ground up but I can fix, replace or add anything. On the house I am in now the only thing I haven't replaced is the kitchen and that's next.
I get alot of satisfaction out of doing it myself.

My wife and I are in the process of purchasing some land, that has all the hookups available. We are going to put a modular home on it, while we find an architect to design our dream home.

My dad is excellent at building stuff from the ground up, and of course I would help him. So, it looks like our dream home is very close within our grasp!

I've done some framing and cement work, but no electrical or plumbing experience. But the best part of being part of a huge family, is there's always someone who does do this kind of work for a living. So, they will be getting a phone call to help out. If they don't want to help, I will remind them of the time I woke up at 3AM to bail them out of jail!

Well I have never done any work at all on houses. However my old summer job (5 summers) consisted of working on industrial machinery. So I am handy, just not handy when it comes to houses...

I never built one, but I did set one of our old barns on fire when I was a kid.
