Default injury report, god dam i'm f'd up

I wont go into to much detail, since it will undoubtedly bore you. But the outcome of my last black belt weekend is a level 3 seperation in my right AC joint. Incase your wondering, I got thrown, and landed on my shoulder, heard a pop, and it was all down hill from there.

Spent the last week out of work, going to doctors, icing, and eating pain killers just to be able to get out of bed. Its perfect timing too, since our adult karate camp is coming up this weekend, and I have a feeling i was going to be testing for my San-Dan.

I go back to get follow up Xrays taken next week, and to further asses how its healing. I am hoping to avoid surgery since they are telling me it would be a six month recovery period, but with how it looks (my clavical is stickin up out of my shldr) I dont see how its going to heal correctly without it. I'd rather not be deformed for life.

That sucks man. Make sure you take it easy and do what has to be done in order to get back to 100%

Thanks everyone for the support, I dont intend on being lax because of this, if anything its making my resolve grow.

Anuj, I was working judo throws, and as i was being thrown I didnt have enough speed to completely clear and roll through (we were demonstrating at a slow pace). So as a result, my right shoulder went straight into the ground, and all 250lbs of me came down on it.

The ortho I went to said that with this injury he would recomend surgery only if I was a manual laborer, or if in six weeks or so we dont see a drastic improvement. He works with many of the prof hockey and football teams here in nyc, and he said he has seen 500+ of these and he hasnt operated on one yet. I'm hoping to continue that trend.

Yeah, uhh that would be me haha. I dislocated mine in a fourwheeling accident, but being deformed isnt really THAT bad. Anyways I know if it heals like that, you can have it well pretty much grinded down to make it flush with you collarbone again....i need to get mine done. Getting back into lifting really sucks, using really light weight but it can be done, so get to it and get better soon bro!
