Default Just a rant

I don't know what's wrong with some people, but this guy I know is doing this new "Mass Building" Program...some book that he got from GNC. whatever, no big deal. But the program for one is a little different...like chest and back together , arms (bic's and tric) with shoulders another day, then I guess legs.....anyways. He's overweight as is, but wants to get bigger..sure we all want to get bigger, but most of us have a solid muscle build to begin with.

Anyways, so he's doing this program and lets say it's leg day... 20 sets for legs... and he says that he pushes himself to the max everytime, but when he's done he just feels warmed up...I say WTF do you mean ? "Oh well, it doesnt feel like I did anything" SO what's he do ? well he does it again....

This is the type of guy that knows it all, so when I tell him something like, he just rolls his eyes and acts like it doesn't apply to him....Then he tries to give me advice....

I try hard to amuse him,but I know I have that look on my face like SHUT THE FUCK UP.....whatever, I try but it's hard.....especially when people don't listen. I don't claim to know it all and I don't even have that attitude, but come on man...

Thats all,, sorry.

I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

LOL I know what you mean man. A few buddies were doing a split and were whinning about not gaining muscle. So I set them up with a variation of SF5x5 and told them what kind of diet they should have (basically eat alot more). So now I find out they don't want to do the program because they don't want to eat that much, so they'll stick with their split and hopefully gain something. Even after explaining that you have to eat regardless, they still stuck with the split and calorie deficit.....So I feel your pain TALO

What!? You mean you don't value the advice of someone who has more poundage and bf% than you? I thought those guys were supposed to know how to get you in the best shape of your life. I guess I should stop listening to Fat Albert

ya gotta let it roll off your back talo. Its not easy I know, but let him do whatever he is doing, and when he is frustrated and doesnt know why shit isnt working, he'll come to you. Seems like a lesson he needs to learn.

Basically that's what's happening, slowly. I talked to him again last night and it dosen't matter what I say ( and I tell him that) he's going to do what he wants to do...like workout for 2.5hrs on legs alone. I think he ends up doing like 50 sets or something.....whatever, is my new attitude to that.

He does the same with supplements, but that's another story.
