Default MLB Steroid Hearing

Anyone watching this? I found it hilarious that all the panel basically slammed Jose Canseco during their opening statements, even calling him a criminal. Guess we know who they hold responsible for being called up into the public eye. The links they are drawing to the supplement industry and harmful substances is also a little scary too, I just don't trust senators to be the experts on such subjects

This just in... McGwire is pussing out big time with his responses "I am not here to talk about the past." when regarding Andro in his locker and what type of substances he took during his career. He could have at least said he had no problem taking legal substances or didn't know if they had negative effects, but his responses are just making him look bad. Honestly, I think only Frank Thomas, Shilling, and Palmeiro are being honest so far. McGwire obviously took precursors, and it just seems more and more likely that he took the real deal with Canseco/Giambi.

I just read the report written up at foxnews.com. While reading it, a sick thought came into my head, after the MLB and its players are done testifying, the congressional panel now calls the IFBB and its professionals.

TESTIMONY

THE SENATOR FROM NY: Mr. Cutler, have you ever used any steroid in your life?

MR. CUTLER: My Celltech Creatine was contaminated with it once.

THE SENATOR FROM TEXAS: Mr. Coleman, what is your truthful opinion of anabolic steeeroids?

MR. COLEMAN: Ain't nothn but a peanut.

THE SENATOR FROM CALIFORNIA: Mr. Kamali, have you ever used steroids in your professional career?

MR. KAMALI: I never had a career to speak of.

This is getting totally out of control! We got more pressing issues, that concern our countries citizens. People are losing their jobs left and right, Social Security problems, inadequate health care, and on and on...I just can't believe Steroids are even an issue at this point in time! We could go on and on, but I know things are going to get even worse! Just wait till they try to take my protein powder away, IT WILL BE ON THEN!!!

Shhhh...don't let Uncle Sam or the media hear you say that! Don't you know...we are supposed to worry about things like roids, Michael Jackson, and Martha Stewart, so we don't think about REAL issues! Shame on you!

...it's too bad that those words represent the exact attitude of so many people in power these days....

I don't even understand what Schilling and Palmeiro are even doing there, they aren't even big.. McGwire and Canseco juiced for sure together when they played for Oakland, so does Bonds, but I think the rest of them are legit.

Palmeiro was there because Canseco alleged his steroid use in his book and well hes going to be in the 500 HR club so they wanted to see what he had to say basically.

They have the power through subpeonae powers. Senate hearings are like the ultimate grand jury hearing. I picture Macarthyism but instead of Communist, they have so-called "Cheaters" who use steroids.

The should subpeanae Arnold and just the Governator his history with steroids.

I think the whole thing is BS! Congress has nothing better to worry about? How about Inflation, runaway spending, a couple of war fronts, etc...

There are existing laws. If people are breaking those laws then there are law enforcement agencies to enforce them. What the hell is congress doing in it.

I'm sure there might be a couple of other illegal substances out there that are the cause of more deaths and crime than steroids. Come on, give me a break. What a monumental waste of MY tax dollars!
