Pets

What's your favorite pet. Do you have one now or one from the past?

verbatimreturned 04-07-2005 12:07 PM

i always prefer dogs becuase i think they are much cooler, but i have a cat since im still in highschool and my parents didnt want to get a dog but i probably will when i get my own house

joeyboy777 04-07-2005 12:51 PM

My Pit, He's american chocolate red nose, with a touch of white on the chest. Quick and freindly lil guy. He is now 1 yr old and 70lbs. His brothers are a little bigger. He is my first pet so far, And Im lovin it.

Frontline 04-07-2005 01:18 PM

Only thing I even consider a pet is a dog. I wouldn't even think of marrying a girl who owned a cat, it just wouldn't work out :p

Right now I have a 14 year old chocolate lab at home, but hes on his last leg. Thinking about getting a german shepard pup when I move out.

I somehow invisioned you with a snake.

Dave876 04-07-2005 02:13 PM

Haha thats funny you say that DR X,I did own a snake for a little bit when I lived in AZ,but he died...So actually yeah I do kinda dig them.

Snachito 04-07-2005 05:03 PM

I'm a dog person myself, although I don't have the toughest looking dogs. When I tell people I have two dogs, they always assume that I have pit bulls or Rotts. But, when I show them my miniature freedom poodle and Chihuaha/jack russel mix, the just can't believe it!

Vetteman 04-07-2005 05:05 PM

1 cat (used to be 3.Two "went on a vacation at the farm".), 1 dog, and fish, plus the 3 animals my wife gave birth to! My favorites are the kids, followed closely by the dog. Although, the dog minds better than the kids, so maybe I'll have to rethink that :D !

GuardDog 04-08-2005 01:59 PM

Got a dog and a fish tank full of fish. I can't really take the fish out for a walk so I guess I like the dog better. :D

Fpot66 04-08-2005 09:51 PM

I personally like dog's but cats are pretty cool too (gotta love those pussies :D ). But I don't really want to have one of my own again. I grew up with a dog form before I could remember. He was like 16-17 when we put him down. That was harder on me then losing friends and other relatives. That dog was part of my family, kind of like a brother.

I had a couple of cats too at one point, but one ran away and one got into traffic. They were pretty cool for cats. Loosing any of my pets bothered me more than I would have thought but they were like family too.

I totally understand about your dog being family, as I feel the same way about my dogs. My dogs are like my furry kids to me. I will never have any kids, so these little furry ones will take their place.

sdf42450 04-09-2005 11:23 PM

i've got 2 cats... those guys are awesome. completely different personalities. i look forward to seeing them everyday when i get home. (and they are usually waiting for me as soon as i open the door

GuardDog 04-10-2005 03:00 AM

You have squirels for pets? Did you buy them from the petstore or capture and train them?

hrdgain81 04-11-2005 05:09 AM

I had a boxer for a little while in college, but dogs and frat houses dont mix. so he had to go to a better home. Once I get settled and grow my ass up a little bit I'm gonna get a pit. I have a few friends with pits and i love em. But i gotta be able to take care of myself first before i take responsibility for an animal.

GuardDog 04-11-2005 05:17 AM

Good call hrdgain. :D

apocalypse 04-11-2005 11:48 AM

If I have a choice to have anything as a pet, I would get me a T-rex, otherwise I prefer dogs, at least they are loyal, and dont run away like male cats. :D

Killian 04-11-2005 12:06 PM

We used to have cats, they are ok... but nothin can compare to a dog, atleast you can run with them and play ball etc, even though our og is so camp he will no move and is known as "cute" lol, i have a budgie, it was either that or a rat i thought a budgie would be something different, hes ok trained well lol

We are actually a animal recuse family.
Our pets consist of 1 Lab, 5 cats, 1 Guinne Pig, and 1 55gallon tank of fish. We are currently taking care of a beautiful 5 month old German Shepard that we rescued. Were actually low on our animal quota right now.

Killian 04-24-2005 02:31 PM

Well, hate to put a damper on this thread but we had to put our dog to sleep last weekend. 14 years old, probally could lived another year or two but he had some serious problems. Enjoy your dogs while their around.

Heres an old pic I had to do for an art class...he was the party animal hence the kegs :)

GuardDog 04-25-2005 05:17 PM

Sorry to hear about that Sleazy. When I lost both of my Doberman's, each time it ripped me apart.

I think that my squirrels as pets scenario, the fact that I live in the mountains of Western Canada, and the conversation of collecting odds and ends to sell on E-bay, led WonderMonkey to beleive I was a 'simple', cave dwelling, hubcap collecting prospector, which was wasting his thread space last night, and thus led him to ignorantly slap me in the face with his 'self imagined' suttle 'pull the covers over this hillbillies eyes' wit. Squirrel Stewww! HMMMM

im sorry to hear about your loss... what a tragic way to go out.

GuardDog 04-27-2005 03:35 AM

Sad to hear about that taurus. I have heard of cats going out like that before.

ChinPieceDave667 04-27-2005 06:47 AM
