Plagarism
If anyone goes on t-nation, be sure to pass this along!
http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/blo...iarism-part-2/ If that's not taking all of Lyle M's stuff word for word to make a profit, then I don't know what the hell is.. Seriously, if anyone posts a thread asking wtf, please link it here so we can see! |

Your link didnt work for me. The comparison is shocking! Its all step by step paraphrasing |
Fixed.. Thanks SOS!

I thought it was just some jerk on the web ripping of Lyle. To find out that it's Cosgrove is a bit of a shocker.
|
Wow, that is some shit. If I was lyle i would be very pissed, why the hell would Cosgrove think no one would notice that?
|
Wow....I really respected Cosgrove. I wonder why he would do this?
|
Anuj, if anyone could post over at t-nation it would be you. :D Any chance you could entertain us?!
|
I found a thread in JP Fitness where an email Alwyn sent to Lyle is posted. The email also contains a mail thread from 2006 between Lyle and Alwyn. There are always two sides to a story.
http://forums.jpfitness.com/...... I still think Lyle's right. The 2006 emails refer to permission granted for a different product. |
^^ Personally I think its bullshit. How do you forget to cite something that was a blatant copy and paste, do you not proof read your own books?
On the other hand, if it was an attempt to plagarise there is no way he would be the blatant about it. |

What Cosgrove did is not something taken lightly in the academic community. This could have serious consequences to the research he does in the future. |

^^^ I agree completely. Lyle has every right to be pissed. Alwyn's side of the story doesn't cut it. When Alwyn copied a chapter from one of his own books (Real World Fat Loss) to another (Warp Speed Fat Loss) how does a whole section, Lyle's credit, get omitted? It should be easy to copy one of your own chapters in it's entirety.

Conspiracy Theory: Maybe all this hype has purposefully been created so both books get sold in plentiful: UD2.0 and WSFL
:biglaugh: |
There's a dark thought LMAO!

In case anyone's interested to pass this along, it's what we thought:

Wow. That's messed up.
I hate plagiarism. While we're on the subject, if you POST a thread without any citation, and LET people believe you wrote it wihout saying something, that is plagirism. If you find a post on another board but the author is not listed all you have to do is google a phrase or two and you should be able to find the original source pdq. It bugs the hell out of me how many posts are floating around ten times removed from their original author. LOL, it pisses me off and there isn't even any money involved! Here is what's funny in terms of my own thoughts as of late. It has been bugging me that so much of the strength and conditioning industry involves back scratching and ass-kissing just in case you need a plug for one of your products or you want permission, etc. Take a lesson from that. Just because your favorite strength and conditioning guru A sings the praises of guru B it doesn't always mean they even agree on a fundamental level! Most of the time there is enough integrity that these guys will try to do what is "right" in their minds but you have to read every person for what their stuff is worth to you and not because of their reputation, necessarily. Not that reputation doesn't matter, you just have to dig deeper. |
