Default Playing at a funeral on Friday

During the church services. My grandmother died suddenly Monday evening and in her pre-arranged wishes wanted to have Amazing Grace sung. My aunt requested that my brother and I play guitar for it. I'm trying to find an a good version. I came across this Chet Atkins version for two guitars. It's a bit non-conventional but that's what my grandmother would expect.

I had to export it as midi but Windows Media Player will play it. It doesn't sound like two guitars but imagine either two acoustics or one electric and one acoustic doing it.

Midi Here

What do you guys think of it? We would play it all the way through once before the singing started, then we would just strum with the piano.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure you and your brother will sound great and she will be proud.

Sorry to hear that. I would think it would be tough to play with all the emotion going around.

That would be awesome and I'd appreciate it. Whatever version I settle on has to be something that my brother and I can learn tomorrow night. He's driving up and will be here tomorrow afternoon. The viewing will take some time and the church service will be on Friday. So I'd say that we have about 5 hours to learn it well enough to play in front of a crowd.

check your email bro

it might not be exactly what you are looking for, but both are cool renditions and if nothing else may give you some style ideas.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I'm listening to the Garcia one now. I am going to pick the intro, a verse and intro into the singing. My brother will give light stum support during that intro, etc. and then we will both strum the rest. The Garcia picking sounds nice and easy for us to collaborate on. We would replace the ukelale (sp?) with the strumming.

The Gourds has a decent strum pattern to it that we may steal.

Between the two this may be what we are looking for!

I appreciate you taking the time to email those to me.

I bet those songs sound great. Garcia was a seriously talented man.
