Wow....

You know, being an international here in the states, I can understand how people now would be pissed about looking at things so cynically. However, from all my travels around the world (my parents are pretty huge travel buffs) the sad thing is that this sort of a thing is happening all over the world. The result may not be the exact same thing, however, at one level or another, it is pretty much the same. Very sad.

Everybody today is about extremes - either you are 200% for something or you are dead set against it. And I can understand why...the patience to sit and discuss things logically and sensitively is very rare. But this is a global phenomenon.

I hate discussing politics because I am always afraid to lose friends I've made so I'm gonna end this at that.

And when you seek forgiveness
You will see there is no god
And for all eternity
You will cry my name

It sucks. I saw a similar thread to this one on thehighroad.org, a firearms-centered forum. Around the '50s, some kid would have a shotgun in the gun rack of his truck against his back window, the principal would see it, and bring his over from his truck to show it to the student. Now, they would call the ATF, cops, SWAT team, everyone. You also have to blame the morons who've done stupid things, such as with firearms, medication, etc. It is largely because of them that people have grown paranoid. Growing up, my dad's family would even leave the door unlocked/open at times. Nothing ever happened. I wonder what it will be like in the future...
