Second Amendment upheld ... barely

Just incase anyone didnt see this yet. I dont want to get political, but its at the very least important to know what is going on.

Ross86 06-26-2008 01:34 PM

Yeah, that's nuts. I just wish our laws weren't decided by a bunch of ignorant extremists...aka politicians. (Left & right. I vote, so I will bitch all day. If you don't vote, then you don't deserve to bitch IMO :))

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. If guns do kill people, then...
Pencils misspell words
Cars make people drive drunk
Spoons make people fat
etc...I can keep going.

Thanks for posting that hrdgain.

Check out thehighroad.org to see what you can do to prevent crap like that from getting out of hand. I have seen many responsible gun owners, and I have also seen many moron drivers. Of course, I've also seen the opposite. Why not outlaw the automobile as well, since it causes several deaths??

Ross86 07-01-2008 06:58 AM

I wonder how many people are killed because of other drivers getting road rage each year. It really is essentially the same thing. Except that a car has other purposes. I guess if they made a swiss army 9mm, with a screw driver, cork screw, and can opener then there would be no argument. But still, I agree with you John.

hrdgain81 07-01-2008 07:36 AM

Guns to have other purposes, I use my 9mm glock to open my beers all the time hahahah

MONSTAFACE 07-01-2008 07:41 AM

i dont think i would want to ever get a gun...........i would not hesitate to shoot someone. and after i did it i would feel horrible. so i will just stick to screaming at people at the top of my lungs :)

Ross86 07-01-2008 08:30 AM

Haha I remember Homer using a gun to open his beers on the Simpsons.

Monsta, I would do the same thing and feel the same way.

hrdgain81 07-01-2008 08:34 AM

I understand how you feel, but personally i've always looked at it like this. The one and only time i will use a gun to cause harm to another person would be if they had the intent to harm me or my loved ones, in which case they get what they deserve.

Ross86 07-01-2008 08:43 AM

I would get pissed off in traffic or something. That's why I don't carry one. But at home..I'm with you 100%. If somebody tries to break in or harm my family, then they'll be done for in as long as it takes to open the safe.

hrdgain81 07-01-2008 08:50 AM

^^ I dont carry anymore either, but thats only because i moved to NYC. I'm a pretty easy going guy, i dont get too heated over anything really, so road rage isnt a concern for me ... but if it is for you ross your making a smart move leaving the firearms at home.

MONSTAFACE 07-01-2008 08:59 AM

shiiiiiiiiiit. "family" i would mess around and would have shot one of my sisters by now :)

but honestly i get to stupid when im angry. like a month ago i almost pulled this dude out of his car and demolish him. he pulled off before i got to his car. i would have got there faster if i wasnt walking with a limp and this girl i know wasnt hanging of my neck. she knew as soon as i put the car in park i was getting out so from the passenger side jumps around my neck and i wind up pulling her out the car as i get out. i was stil making my way to the dudes car but i couldnt throw my friend off of me because i would have hurted her. best believe though if he would have stayed there for 2 more seconds and not pulled off i wouldnt be typing this to you right now.

all that being said if i had a gun he would have got shot at while pulling off. i am a mature guy for the most part, but it takes a lot to piss me off. so when it happens i really dont care about making irrational decisions.

the thing is i know its not worth it, its stupid, and i know i woudl regret it. so i will just chill

john917v 07-01-2008 01:03 PM

It's good that you guys have have the self-realizations that you feel you couldn't handle yourselves in certain situations with a gun, so you don't carry one with you. I don't, since I don't have a pistol (2 rifles and a shotgun), and since the CCW permits are expensive. That's why I carry pepper spray, though :) They discuss a lot of issues like this over at thehighroad.org What'd that guy do to piss you off, Monsta? Did he have a "Bodybuilders suck" sticker on his car? LOL People these days. I have been pretty close to wailing on someone before.

hrdgain81 07-01-2008 01:17 PM

I hear ya monsta, I'm kinda the same way, i dont lose my temper much, but when i do, it becomes primal instinct. I've blacked out a few times when in altercations, only to realize that i was still standing and the other guy(s) were not. Its like having a very long fuse, but a really big stick of dynamite.

its a pretty scary feeling, so I keep away from dumb shit as much as possible. but some times you just cant help it. I would think that keeping a shotgun in the house is the best idea for home defense.

john917v 07-01-2008 01:33 PM

+2 on what Hrd said!! I'd prefer my 12-ga with some buckshot (which actually sucks against bucks at any hunting distances) over most any pistol! I've never quite blacked out...except for that time that my friend put me in a sleeper hold-I wanted to feel what it was like to pass out.

MONSTAFACE 07-01-2008 01:37 PM

yeah with a shotgun if they are up close its no surviving with that one lol.

but john, there was a 4 way stop sign and he was doubled parked in a manner where he didnt block the intersection but he made other cars block it because they couldnt get around. i couldnt just drive around him because i would run the risk of crashing if someone was driving in the opposite lane with any kind of speed. as i get around him i voice my displeasure about him double parking by shouthing WTF!!!!! he starts to honk his horn like he did nothing wrong.

i could have let it go but the way he was parked was dangerous for everyone except him. and it made me mad because he could have pulled up further to let people by.

so when i get to the next stop light, i am talking to my friends in the car, i noticed he drove up next to me to make a right turn but while he is doing it he pulls up slow and stares at me the whole time and wouldnt take his eyes off of me. so i scream WTF are you looking at. he rolls down his window and said anybody can be a tough guy in the car.......................... i threw that car in park soooooooooo fast. i guess he sized me up by me drivoing a little hyndai elantra and thought i was gonna sit there and argue. im not into argueing. if you have a probem it can be settled and thats that.

once i stepped out the car his look changed drastically. i guess he thought that i was gonan let the chics in the back and passenger side hold me back. as i got closer i told him to get out of the car or dont pull off. and as you know by now the light turned green and he pulled off.

i would have let shit ride until he was tryign to say i was being a tough guy. low and behold i run out the car and he speeds off

hahahahaha. at the sleep comment lol

john917v 07-01-2008 01:58 PM

Yep, good ol' 12-ga. Or, a slug, it turns into a kind of mega-pistol!! Oh, people. They do something wrong, then they treat everyone else like they did something wrong! Similar thing happened to my sister on the freeway. I was in the passenger side. Her windows were tinted-a dark tint. This guy was all bad, gesturing at my sister, until I rolled down the window. His urge to gesture suddenly decreased.
