The Obama Tax Lie
I want to preface this thread by saying, I'm not a McCain supporter, while I may be a rebulican, I dont perticularly like McCain or Palin. I just find Obama's insistance that he is going to cut taxes ridiculous, and the fact that he out and out lies, and calls his social programs, taxs breaks kinda makes me wanna puke a little.
I leave it to you, have a look at what his plan entails, and decide for yourself. http://online.wsj.com/article_email/...zgxNTM2Wj.html |
As a gun owner, what is below disturbs me as much as the rest of Obama's policies. I spent some time looking into these things and they are all verifiable. The first one is the one that bothers me the most. I may not agree with some of the things Bush has done and much like you, I'm not convinced about McCain and Palin. But I strongly feel that Obama is just telling people what they want to hear for now and we may very well see a much different Obama later.
Obama voted to allow the prosecution of people who use a firearm for self-defense in their homes Illinois Senate, S.B. 2165, vote 20, 3/25/04 Obama voted to ban hundreds of rifles and shotguns commonly used for hunting and sport shooting Illinois Senate, SB 1195, 3/13/03 Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting United States Senate, S. 397, vote 217, 7/29/05 Obama endorsed a ban on all handguns Independent Voters of Illinois/Independent Precinct Organization general candidate questionnaire, 9/9/96 Politico, 03/31/08. Obama supported increasing taxes on firearms and ammunition by 500 percent Chicago Defender, 12/13/99 Obama opposes Right-to-Carry laws Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 4/2/08, Chicago Tribune, 9/15/04 When we take the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens, the only ones who will be armed are criminals! |
^^ I couldn't agree with you more sir. I am a fellow gun owner, and it sickens me when people try to take guns out of the hands of good standing citizens. Especially since every single place that has blanketly outlawed gun ownership, has seen a huge increase in violent crimes, crimes involving guns, and deaths involving guns.

If guns become illegal, then you'll have crooks selling more drugs/stealing more to buy them, since guns (which will be on the blackmarket) will be much more expensive.
|
Most of (maybe all) of the folks at thehighroad.org, a firearms-related forum dislike Obama b/c of his negative views on firearms.
Another gun owner here. |
There is too much support for gun owners right now for anyone to worry IMO. I still worry anyway though. :) I love my guns. They are like children to me...except I take better care of them.

Great article...I haven't read anything that was so biased in quite a while. It's kind of funny because they only talked about one side of the coin. You could write an equally biased article explaining how great his tax plan is. It's pretty misleading. It really pisses me off that the author purposefully didn't explain the reasoning for any of the plan (other than his idle, close minded speculation). I think people should know none of the truth rather than half of the truth if those are the only choices. Take this article with a grain of salt... No offense Matt. :)

Obama won't be able to take away guns.
McCain WILL manage to illegalize abortion and I worry about that....snatching women's rights away is wrong IMO. I actually like Republicans - except for their stance on abortion. |
i didnt know people paid attention to that kind of stuff. i was just gonna vote for obama cause i seen him playing basketball :)

I find it hard to find unbiased media coverage of any of this, but if you take a little from each source, you can come to an equilibium at some point. |
monsta you a funny dude. I had a convo with one of my boys the day, he asked me why I didn't get into politics since I'm so passionate about it.
My first response was, "cause I'm not a scumbag". But after further reflection, I would be brutal dictator, cause I can't handle stupidity well. I would however treat everyone equally bad, if that helps any hahahah. |

Not all of his "tax cuts" are for social programs though. While he is "raising taxes", the majority of taxpayers will end up paying less because of the tax credits. Because of how ignorant and uninformed the general public is, I would call it "tax cuts" also if it was my campaign. In the end, that's essentially what it is. That's half of the issue anyway. You're right, part of it is being used for social programs. Obama is catching a lot of crap over his tax plan from McCain for the very reason that you mentioned. McCain is doing the very same thing to fund his health care program, but he's not being attacked as much about it. Shows you how important semantics are. That's my take on things at this point anyway. I think this is unarguably the most interesting election in the past twenty years. I think everyone has an idea of what's probably going to happen, but it's still unprecedented. Then again, the world has been going nuts this year, so who knows? It will make the next election pretty interesting also. |

I wonder what all they know/have seen that we, well, wonder about! I think they've seen aliens, may even have one, or parts of one.
|
I wonder how many assassination attempts there have been on the president. I know there must have been a lot over the years. It's something that would never be talked about because if it seemed commonplace, more people would try it.

I've been told that whenever the pres. makes a public speech, there are plexi. shields in front/to the sides of him, and that you can sometimes see them on TV.
