im thinking of getting one of those black smooth leather jackets. Hell ive never had one but even thought its over 200 bucks. I dont have to buy as many winter clothes i guess.

Been riding motorcycles since I was a kid...so, yes, I have worn leather jackets. Do I like wearing them...No. If it's cold out, that's fine, but otherwise they're heavy, sweaty and a pain in the butt to just take off and leave without fear of someone walking off with it. I prefer comfortable functional clothes. Give me a good old flannel any day. For when it's cold out..Navy P-Coat can't be beat.

I like my leather jacket. It's a cross between a motorcycle-tough guy jacket and a respectable dress-up jacket. I've receive a lot of compliments about it.

If you are going to get one, you have to decide if you want a jacket (goes to waist) or a coat (which goes past the ass). I, personally, was never fond of coats, but I have a couple of friends that like 'em.

Then, you have to decide on a color. IMHO go with black and not too much silver (you don't need that belt like thing at the bottom either).

BTW Wilson's leather is having a 50% off sale. Thru today (I think).

i always wanted to wear a leather jacket but i just never got around to it. but if it was my choice i would prolly go with something that bradg has which can be wore to dress up and dress down, this way you can use it alot and not feel bad about investing $200 + on it

I prefer a flannel lined jean jacket. Like Badger said they are a heavy sweaty pain and not very comfortable.

I'm a suede kind of guy myself, but I do have an old leather coat from back in high school. I loved that thing, its soft as a babys ass. If you do pick one up, make sure you take care of it. I've had mine for 6 or 7 years now and it still is in tip top shape, and the style should be coming back around soon.

denim is very much in now (from what my girlfriend tells me) and leather/suede isnt. but I dont put much stock in what dbag designers say is cool now.

I've been wearing denim since the 80's. I guess I was wearing denim when denim wasn't cool

Yeah, I got a full length leather duster too. Great for short periods of time when it's cold/windy. Really works good when I'm riding the Harley in bad weather, combined with chaps. But, man is that thing heavy. After a couple of hours my old back starts screaming at me. Looks great and is functional, but the older you get, the less your back puts up with. Besides that, it's kinda fun watching people look at me like I'm a flasher or something.
