1st vid has bands around dumbells but there was no tension at the bottom.

So I looped them around my rack but had to walk the weight out and that had the bands pulling me forward a bit.So I gotta get a better way to attach em cos the dumbell method sucks ass, they were rolling around a bit too much.Any setup tips are welcome.

I hope you got more bands than blue's! If you're using them for speed squats w/ your current squat numbers, you're looking at doing strength-speed (vs. speed strength). That's when there's more band tension than weight on the bar (fyi). That's good every once in a couple of micros, but it'll destroy you whether you "feel" it or not. That's the good and bad dealing with bands. Great for pounding the strength curve, bad for beating the holy hell out of you.

Don't use them for speed bench.. Way too much tension.

Don't set them up like vid #2. It's pulling you forward and will fuck up your technique. So when you get used to doing it that way, then take off the bands, your SOL. The bands should be next to your feet/ankles. You're squatting UP.

Since you don't have a rack bottom for them, choke them on a pair of DB's like vid #1. Then take a 45 lb plate, put it on top of the DB, and pull the band through and attach to the bar. That should help keep the DB's from rolling.

Thanks for the input Horse.FYI I got 3 diff types of bands, they are not jumpstretch brand cos they dont have them over here I got these
http://www.kettlebells.com.au/store/...iate-pack.html

The bands are offered in six different resistances- from 5 lbs. to 300 lbs.

Super Mini Bands (yellow): Resistance 5 to 35 lbs
Mini Bands (orange): Resistance 10 to 50 lbs
Small Bands (red): Resistance 25 to 80 lbs
Medium Bands (blue): Resistance 50 to 120 lbs
Large Bands (purple): Resistance 60 to 150 lbs
Monster Bands (black): Resistance 80 to 300 lbs

I'll start with the yellows for speed bench and might even drop to the orange for squatting every now and then. What do ya think?

Sweet.. Yeah, they're just labelled/colored differently than mine. Other than that, rubber is rubber lol.

Definately use the orange ones for speed bench. My bench is around 385 lbs, and I use the red ones looped around the collar twice. This meso I just started up I'm using the monster mini's (aka orange) doubled. That means you just put one end of the orange around the collar, wrap it around the bottom of the cage (or DB's), then put the other side on the collar. That's pretty standard for orange band work.

The yellow bands are mainly just for rehab/prehab.

Squats you're still going to need the red ones. My previous post still stands for your blue tension bands.

If you ever find that there's too much slack on the bottom (for speed bench), try adding another small dumbbell and choke the bands around both of your DB's (or DB + bottom of power rack).

Yeah, those look the same resistance as IW bands as well. The IW bands haven't come in solid colors for a while (just a little color on one part of band) but now they have solid colors again...they said that the coloring process used to degrade the latex but now that is solved. Seems like it's all the same.

D, I've seen for sale "chokes' for the bands..for convenience. Have you ever tried anything like that?

Damn so I need to get red bands huh? Or could I just use my yellow and orange ones together for squat day, looks like it would add up to a red one tension wise? or is that retarted!!

Yesterday I did speed bench with the yellows, I tried them single looped which was kinda tough but I had good bar speed, I double looped on the last set and it was hard and a little slow.

I got vids coming for critique asap.
